Scouting a center midfielder at— I have no idea what this is. I think it's just a league game that I'm here early to play a different game later, and I wanted to watch a couple guys. So you never know who's watching you. Scouting them to see if they can play college soccer. Let's do it. We're gonna scout this player number 16, who's the captain for the red team. I have no idea what level this is, and I have no idea if he qualifies to play college soccer afterwards. Maybe I can go find him. So I've been watching him for just a few minutes, and I liked his positive attitude. He's been talking to the players. That's why I picked him to choose. He also played a nice through goal earlier, it was offside. But, uh, let's keep watching. He sits in that hole pretty nicely, which I like to see. It seems like a small thing, right? He's just walking, but that position he's taking up centrally says to me, okay, I think there's a Rodri-esque quality to him. And if I'm looking for a Rodri-esque quality, that's a good thing. Goalkeeper has the ball, he doesn't shy away, he wants to receive it. Nice one-touch sequence there. Love that dribbling, forward pass. Did I not say Rodri? That was just like Rodri. That was brilliant. I like to see his reaction after his team loses it, and positive. He's not screaming at anybody like a maniac. I don't love that. He's dropped off first. He might get the ball again. Oh, good first touch. Here he is again. Is he going to keep it? Love that one-touch, two-touch. Kept it for us again. He may get it again. He wants it. He's looking over his shoulder. He doesn't get too close to the ball when he checks in, but he's in a pretty good spot. Let's see how second ball Second ball, that's the one. I think maybe could have anticipated that the ball was going to land there a little bit earlier, but nothing that you would mark down as. So just watching him for these few minutes, I can say, okay, this player is a center midfielder. And if I'm a college soccer coach and I'm going, look, I need a center midfielder for my team, there's some attributes that I quite like about him. Now I need to know him as a person. I need to know his grades, his GPA, what grad year he is. He doesn't look completely fit, Uh, there's quite a few moments where he's put his hands on his hips or on his knees and he looks kind of fatigued. Uh, I don't actually know what minute we are. We might be in the last 10 minutes of the game, but of course that is some concern to me as well. But his soccer attributes, in terms of what he can do on the ball, I've been quite pleased with. Here it is now, it's a corner, defending corner, stays with his man, willing to go up. Oh my gosh, they almost scored!
So I didn't get to go up to him, which is disappointing because the game that I was actually there for was starting, so I had to deal with that and actually recruited somebody else from that game, which you'll see in a different video.
