A former JV player turned Division I soccer recruit shares three steps: make six to eight highlight videos yearly, generate interest from non-D1 schools since coaches move between divisions, and attend four to six ID camps starting in 8th or 9th grade.

If you're stuck on JV, I'm proof that you can still play Division 1 college soccer. First, you need a lot of videos, like a ton of videos. I'm talking 6 to 8 highlight every-touch videos per year. Number 2, you have to get interest from schools outside of Division 1. The college world is really small. They all know each other. They all change jobs also. So if a school is recruiting you and they're D3, a couple years they may be the assistant at a D1 school and they'll take you with them. And by getting interest, you can let other coaches know you have interest. If you're not playing for the highest level club teams, or if you are playing for the highest level club teams, telling schools you have other interests makes coaches become interested in you. And number 3 is you must go to ID camps, and you must go to a lot of them. If you really want to play college soccer, I would expect you to go to 4 to 6 ID camps every year starting in 8th, 9th grade. If you comment the word quiz, I will send you a quiz that will help you decide which are the best ID camps for you.
