A recruiting roadmap for high school soccer players: email D2 or D3 coaches with a one-minute highlight video before ID camps, follow up after with a specific question about your recruiting class or competitive level, then show up to their fall games uninvited. Persistence matters when coaches don't respond right away.

Can you tell me what to do as a sophomore if you're playing MLS NEXT? There are 3 things I want you to do, and I'm going to save the best one for last only because they combine each other, and so it will make more sense if you hear these first, then that one. It helps the algorithm also. Sorry, guilty. So if you're playing MLS NEXT as a sophomore, you must go to ID camps, but don't go to ID camps cold. So I want you to have emailed the coaches first. They may or may not respond to you. Remember, D3 and D2 can respond to you in any way they want, and then go to the camp. If they don't respond as a sophomore, you can totally still go. Especially if you're a sophomore going into your junior year, you can still go to dream schools because junior year you cannot do that. Make sure you send at least a 1-minute video. You follow up after the camp and you say to them, I was at your camp, I really enjoyed XYZ. I would like to ask if you're considering me for the class of blank, or you can ask them what level do you believe I should aim for? But make sure you ask one of those two questions. Don't ask both. If the coaches don't respond to you, don't give up yet. It doesn't mean they don't like you. You may need to follow up again, especially since you're playing almost next. That's a really good sign. You're gonna be one of the better ones at the camp because you're playing at such a high club level and the coaches will notice you. Now it's better if you did it as a sophomore, to be honest, or as a freshman, sorry, because then you're even younger and you're better. But as a sophomore, you're kind of like, you should be better than most everybody. You're kind of normal. Like you're starting on time kind of. So you're not really special. You're just, you're good 'cause you're supposed to be good at that point in your career. And then the biggest game changer, which is the last point I wanted to tell you, was if you go to their fall games after having gone to the camp, after sending emails, and you just go up, even if you like don't get an official invitation, it's a game changer. If you want more help, give us a call, link in the bio. Bye.
