A goalkeeper's guide to recruitment reels: pack the first minute with 3-4 spectacular saves (1-v-1, set pieces, side volleys) because recruiters rarely watch longer. Follow with 1-2.5 minutes total on YouTube, then add supplemental videos of every touch, training feedback, and distribution clips.

How should you break down your highlight video if you are a goalkeeper? Number 1 has to be your shot stops. So that is the highlight, like show us you making amazing saves, 3 to 4. Then after that, if you can show us moments of shot stopping 1v1s, so somebody's dribbling against you and you make a save, that's excellent. Number 3 are off of set pieces, whether you punch it or you do another amazing play like a free kick save. And show us your side volley. All of this, by the way, should be in the first minute. Odds are they're not going to watch more than a minute. Now you can't have only a minute of footage because they're like, well, then you're not very good. So you want a minute to 2 minutes and 30 seconds, but make sure the first minute is everything. And goalkeepers, you guys often make the mistake of putting it into sections— saves, distributions, etc. Unless you know how to make chapters on YouTube, the coaches are not going to be able to find your sections. So do not do that, and do not send a Google Drive link. It must be on YouTube. So don't make it into sections unless it's after the first minute mark. My suggestion would be make a proper highlight video, then later if you want to make a second highlight video and put into sections, you can. But I still don't recommend that. The best thing is a highlight video Then an every-touch video, and then a training video. Training video is what you need, which is different to that of field players. Training videos are you with a goalkeeper coach getting the ball smacked into your face while you make amazing saves, and the coach is talking to you so you can hear his verbiage saying, great job, set your feet, et cetera. Then you need separate video in each category. So just goal kicks, just corners, just distribution. And you can say to coaches, here's me doing distribution and show them your feet. Your feet and a side volley in your video will change your life. If you are a goalkeeper and you wanna get recruited, comment the word GK.
