Call me link in bio

Three signs a college soccer coach isn't actually interested: a generic mass email about camp, a sales-pitch phone call, or vague answers about your position or class. You need to show up in person. Camps and showcases matter more than highlight videos alone.

Here are 3 ways for you to know that the college soccer team you are recruiting is not interested in you, even if you're getting emails back and forth. If you get an email and it says, we recruit players from all over the world and we're such a great school, but we'd love for you to come to our camp, that's called a generic email. They're not interested in you and they don't know anything about you. Now that does not mean you still don't go to the camp, right? They've just told you we don't know you, we're a robot email. But if you want to get their interest and it's a top school, You might need to show up in person, like you might do for a job one day, and show them how great you are. But they're not interested. Number 2, if they call you and it's a top, top school and you're really not the level, odds are that they aren't really that interested in you and they just really want you to come to camp and they're doing a sales call. They're like, hey, you know, we're making this call to you, we'd love to have you at camp. It's very rare though, I've only seen it once, where they call you and they're not actually interested. These coaches are very busy, they get plenty of people to come to their camps, they don't need an extra $75 or an extra $150, plenty of people wanna come to their camp. If they call you, it pretty much means 99% of the time that they like you. Number 3, if you ask them, are you looking for my position for the Class of X, and they say something like, we are looking for all positions, it's still a genuine response, but the coach is basically saying, look, I gotta see you in person. If you wanna be recruited, come in person. That's the best we can do for you. Or they're gonna say to you, hey, when is your showcase scheduled? Which means there's some interest, not none, but they're not like over the moon about you. If you get an email that says, I watched your highlight video and I'd love you to come to our camp, it's plausible they're telling the truth. Like, I would say 98% of the time they are telling the truth, but there may be not truth to that and you have to risk it. You know, at the end of the day, if you don't go to camps and are seen in person, you will not get recruited. If you are depending on them to come to your showcase and get picked, even if you're a playoff-winning team, you're asking them to do so much to pick you. If you go to their camp and then they come to your showcase, that's totally different because then they probably like you. If you want help in this recruiting process, comment the word call and I can send you a link to book a call with me and your parents.
