College recruiters won't see you in a bad highlight video, no matter how talented you are. Use overhead cameras like Veo or Trace, shoot horizontal on iPhone, and zoom in tight. Poor footage can't be fixed in editing.

The number 1 most important part of your highlight video is that we can clearly see you. That is the most important thing. If you give us footage that's not that great and it's not a good angle, you're not going to get recruited to play college soccer. So of course, Veo and Traces are great because they're high up angle and they're zoomed in. Your iPhone footage can work, but you need to put all your effort into making quality video. So whether that be you hire a professional videographer just for your child, and/or get a trace and/or get a video and/or get an iPhone sitting on the sidelines and you walk to the other side of the field and get video and you record sideways, do not record vertical, and you make a video and you make sure it's edited well and there's a nice circle and you're zoomed in, you have a very good chance playing college soccer if you are good enough. But if you do not make that nice video and you are very good at playing college soccer, you will not play college soccer. It is as simple as that. Now, of course, I edit all the videos for all my students. So if you've got B-level video, I can turn it to A-minus level video. If it's bad video, there's nothing we can do about bad video, but we want to coach you to make sure it's good. Most people these days do have a camera angle from up above, but having a camera angle up close is also super helpful, and we can help you with that. But remember, no matter what level you are, if you don't have that quality video, you are screwed. If you want more help, give me a call, link in the bio. If you type in the word highlight video into the comments, I will send you tips about your highlight video, like what you need to do for your highlight video to turn out Make it good!
