Gabe credits mentor Zev Taublieb with teaching him persistence and self-advocacy. When colleges said no to recruiting Gabe, Zev pushed harder, circling his play against UCLA in a highlight video and flooding coaches with emails and visits until Pomona-Pitzer committed.

I just think something that was so valuable to me was that I realized looking back, I've used so many of the skills that you taught me via like communicating emails and just like, like going the extra mile to like knock on a door, leave a note under like a coach's mailbox. Like that's helped me grow my film business. It's helped me get internships. It's helped me just like learn about myself and write my college essays. Like it's just been like something that's shaped me so holistically as a person. And I'm just like so grateful to you and my parents for just giving this amazing experience at like 17 years old to be able to travel around like the United States and just do all these like amazing things. I'm just so lucky and I just want to say thank you.
Yeah, you're welcome. Put me as a producer in one of your films one day. Oh yeah, I want executive producer credits. It's amazing, Gabe. You did a great job. And I think when I— we talked about the beginning, but when When I think about where we were, you know, we were playing NPL and we knew what we were up against and we wanted to play at the highest level we could. And then we had, you know, a lot of schools, as you know, and this happened in my own college recruiting process, who said no to you, but that didn't necessarily mean no, you're not going to play soccer. And that's what a lot of kids think. Like they think, no, it's over, which is not the case. No, it's just part of the process. No means get to work. And as a producer in your next career, you'll find that's very true. But because you kept at it and you're like, okay, this school said yes, but that school's actually better. Like we had schools better than other schools say yes to you. And then the worst schools say no. And we didn't stop. And that was really the key. And then the strategy. And I think also I want to give a lot of credit, which I use as an example today, the highlight video that we made when you're playing against the UCLA kid and we circled him and we circled you, then we followed up again. I thought that was huge. I thought that was really good, smart of us to do, was intelligent. And look, you did, you did everything basically I advised and I made you do a a lot of work. We sent lots of emails and made lots of trips, and it's nice that it's come to this. So basically, the last step is this. We'll stay in touch. You keep me up to date, and then obviously congratulations on your commitment to Pomona's Pitzer, and we'll talk soon.
All right, sounds great. Thank you so much, Zev. I'll follow up soon.
Good. Bye.
All right, bye-bye. Thank you.
