An 8th grader has Division I level soccer skills but his recruiting video is a disaster: wrong orientation, no GPA, no highlights section. College coaches stop watching poorly formatted clips before they see the talent. Start the recruiting process early if you're elite.

This is one of the best videos I've ever seen of an 8th grader. I believe they can already play Division 1 soccer. Now when I look at videos, I put them in 2 categories: what level are they and what will a coach think of their video? Now when I say what will a coach think of the video, that means it has to be formatted correctly, the circles have to be right, grad year, GPA, self-interview, coaches' references, a page that says you're a professional and you really want to play college soccer. So in that category, he gets like an F-. It's not good. He only has Instagram right now. It's not— he doesn't have his profile correctly like I would like it to be. There's no GPA, there's no highlight video section where they can click on his video easily, so that's not okay. However, he is really good. He is a Division I level player, and the way I could tell is when I was watching this video. See how this is horizontal? You'll never send video like this. You want to send video that's clear. So like in this video, who is he? Who is he? Who is he? I still don't know who he is. College coaches stop watching, too bad, he doesn't get recruited. Simple as that. In this clip though, and I spent time researching, you can tell his feet are really good for his age. He looks like a sophomore. The fact that he looks like a sophomore both physically and technically says to me potential top academic D3, which is very high level, or potential Division I. Now he wants to play at either the highest level Ivy League level schools, which maybe he's the level for, early on to say, but the D3 top academics would love to get to know him because they can talk to him as much as they want with no rules. The D1 schools, I think they would start talking to them as well if they saw them at camp, because they're going to put them with the older kids and they're going to say, who are you? What's your name? This is why you want to start the process ASAP if you are an elite level player. If you would like help playing college soccer, give me a call. Links in the bio. Talk soon. Bye.
