A college soccer coach explains why recruiting companies like NCSA often fail: coaches can't verify emails came from the player. Instead, send personalized emails directly from Gmail, follow up 1-3 times per school, and include a strong recruiting video. Mass outreach without video won't work.

Hey coach, should I be using like a recruiting company to help me play college soccer? I hear about like NCSA, these companies just say like they're so good. Are they good at helping people get recruited? Uh, the short answer is, while you can use any company you want for information, anytime you send an email that is not from your own personal account, you can never depend on them to get recruited. What are you talking about? I have like NCSA and they following me. I'm only a freshman and like UCLA is following me. I think you're wrong. Often I ask the coaches, I go, hey, you just followed one of my students on NCSA because they have a free account. Like, was that you? And they're like, I have no idea. They have no idea how that happens. I just had a phone call with a father that does sales for NCSA, and he's contacting the College Soccer Guy to see if his son, who is now a senior, would work with us after using NCSA for 3 and a half years and it not working. Oh, I don't want that to be me. So like, what should I do? So the first thing you're gonna need to do is you're gonna have to either manually write a lot of emails, or I have a system as the College Soccer Guy that allows you to write a lot of emails from your own personal Gmail account in a genuine way very quickly, which I can show you that tool. But most of all, you're gonna have to be prepared to write a lot of emails from your own account and reach out consistently. You're gonna need to follow up 1 to 3 times before you can really say, okay, that school's not interested and you have to move on. But if you don't have a good video, none of that will work anyways. If you want more help, comment "call" and we can schedule a call with you and your parents.
