Call me link in bio

A coach breaks down a junior player's highlight reel for recruiting, comparing his style to young Marcelo. With only 2-3 years of club soccer experience, he's got the athleticism and technical skill for Division III and maybe Division I if scouts see the right 75-second edit: goals first, solid passing sequences next, weak defensive clips last or cut entirely.

Fixing a junior's MLS Next 4.0 kids junior highlight video to make sure that they can play college soccer. The video is really not good. His ability is great, but his video is really not good. So we're gonna fix it together because he deserves to play top academic D3 and potentially Division 1 because he's very good. Mind you, he started playing club soccer like 2 or 3 years ago and already is in MLS Next, which is incredible. Athletically, it's awesome, and technically too. He's like a little baby Marcelo. Let me show you. So here's the video. Which one is he? That's super important. Of course, I'm watching for the first time to make it authentic. Here's him, so he scores, I assume. Good goal! Look at that left foot. So does that tell you a lot about a player? No. This is why every-touch videos are so important. So then his second clip is him defending, and he just kicked it out of bounds basically. So that's not a second clip. That cannot be the second clip. We have to play out of the back first. So this is better. Good technique, good, good ball. So that could be the second clip after the goal. Goals in first— goals first, of course. Him tackling. Put that at the end of the video. That's not helpful. He doesn't look good, just kicks it out of bounds. Good close technique. Looks like this is high school. Look at that, he's like Marcelo, I'm telling you. Um, good ball. I like how zoomed in it is, so even though it's not MLS Next, we can still use that footage. Another tackle. Put that at the end of the video. Here's a goal. No, defending again, and it's, it's an average clearance. Cut the clip. It's not even a good clip. Um, here, ball straight out of bounds. Cut that clip. Here's him showing his pace. I like— and he keeps it. So make this— this is really good. Good pass too. Yes, make this clip— make that clip the third clip after the goal, because that clip was really good. And then we're looking at this one. So it says it's him, but it's also circled here, so that's obviously a mistake by Trace. We need to zoom in. This is way too far. I can't even tell what's going on. I don't even know what happened. Delete the clip. That's a terrible clip. I don't even know what happened there. Here, good pass. That's a good pass. You can keep— that's a good one in the video. I think that's it. No, there's one more. Okay, him playing out of the back. This is what I want to see because he plays center back too sometimes. So that's a good— that's a great ball. So add that, add that into the first minute. Everything else you should delete. So the video itself might only be a minute and 15 seconds. That's way better than this. Then we have to fix the end. So Gotta fix this video, but he's definitely good enough for D3 soccer for sure. Division 1 soccer is plausible, but we need way more interest first.
