Female soccer players recovering from injuries like ACL tears should tell college coaches immediately, send recovery videos from PT sessions, and share pre-injury game footage. One player got college visits by regularly sending physical therapy videos during her ACL rehab.

If you're a girl soccer player and you just got injured, this video is for you. It is very likely you're going to get injured throughout this process, and here are 3 things you need to do, specifically saving the best one for last, if you want to play college soccer. Number 1, if it's a severe injury like an ACL or a very strong hamstring strain or a groin injury, you need to let the coaches know that you're going to be out for some time and then send them recovery videos of you in the pool, of you in the jacuzzi, of you taking ice baths, of you doing physical therapy. You're gonna get injured when you're in college. So a college coach would love to see how you're handling the injury process. Number 2, go through old video and send it out almost as if you're still fully fit. College coaches don't always need to know you're injured depending on the severity of the injury. So sending game footage going, here's how I played, here's how I played, and then they say to you, please come to my camp, that's when you can specify I'm injured at this time, I look forward to keeping you updated shortly, and you stay in touch with them even if you're injured. And number 3, as I mentioned, the best comment for last is if you have a severe injury like an ACL, you may think that the recruiting process is over for you, and that is not the case. College coaches know injuries happen, but if you do not communicate with them at all because you're injured, then there's a much likelier chance they will move on. However, if you stay up to date with them and continue to communicate, the chances of them wanting to go on a visit with you will happen. We have a student who I cannot name yet, but she tore ACL, and she's been sending great videos to the coaches of her physical therapy, and she's gotten official visits from showing her recovery videos. If you want help playing college soccer, give me a call. Links in the bio.
