A college coach evaluates a Southern California high school soccer player with a 3.3 GPA, praising his left foot and through-ball ability. The coach advises him to make every-touch videos, email D1 programs while targeting D2/D3 schools realistically, and keep creating through balls. The player has contacted Merchant Marines, Concordia, and Nebraska but had only one phone call so far.

Hey, I just saw you play. I thought you were really good. I liked your left foot a lot. Good composure. You had a couple of good through balls and you guys won, which is cool. You're 2026, is that right? Yes, sir. And your GPA? 3.3. Awesome. Are you talking to schools right now? Yeah, a couple. What do you mind telling me what schools you're talking to? One of those is Merchant Marines and the other one's, I think it was like Gauthier. Do you have a highlight video? I do. You do? Can you send it? You'll send it to me later. I'd love to see more of it. And then how many phone calls you had with college coaches? Just one. Right now I'm just texting with schools. I was like trying to set up phone calls. Okay. Oh, also, uh, University of Nebraska of Concordia. Yeah, good one. And where are you from? California. SoCal? SoCal, yeah. Okay. Uh, can I give you a couple pieces of advice? Of course. I thought playing-wise, that's really good. You're kind of short like me, so it's really important that you play those through balls as you did, but then make a bunch of every-touch videos because you're a good soccer player. And in this game, like, it was kind of jungle ball, you know, there wasn't a lot of opportunity to show, but on the ball you're really good. Definitely D3, definitely D2. I wouldn't even take D1 out of the question either, but if you're gonna play D1 You got to make sure that you're sending those emails to the D1 schools with your highlight video and your every touch video. And you play for a really good club of Slammers. So like, that's real— like, your left foot's very good. You have a lot of potential. Okay, if you want help, let me know. Of course.
