Soccer players can create recruiting videos by recording every touch from game footage on Veo or Hudl, noting the timestamp and action. Bold your best moments so coaches find them fast, then screen-record those clips into a highlight reel. Have your full game video ready too, with your jersey number, since college coaches often request it.
Listen closely to how to make your full game and every touch video. Okay, so what you're going to do is you're going to watch a game on Veo or Hudl. Okay, you're going to watch that game and on the bottom you're going to see a number, two numbers, one on the right side and one on the left side. It'll be like right down here. When you are watching the game, you're going to write down the left-sided numbers and you're going to write down every single time you touch the ball. When you touch the ball, you're going to write down the action that took place. So, forward pass, write that down. Backward pass, write that down. Do not say good or bad or great or not great. Just write down the facts, okay? So now you've got a long list. Header, backward pass, lost the ball. You have to put both the good and the bad. That's what an every-touch video is. Of course, you're only going to send coaches your best video, But in my perfect world, you're doing this after every single game. Then in bold, you're gonna put anything that you personally think is a highlight. So if it was a great pass, or a goal, or an assist, just bold it. Coaches will know what that means and they'll skip to that section, of course. The main reason you're gonna do this is eventually we are gonna update your video, or we might send them a new highlight video completely from the spring season. And you're gonna be able to go back through all the every touches you took look at all the bolded timestamps, and then you're gonna be able to screen record all of those bolded moments, and then you'll have a new highlight video. And you won't have to go looking for them, you won't have to try and find the clips, you'll just already have them. And that's why after every single game I want you to write down the timestamps for the full game so you could go make an Every Touch video by screen recording, which would take you like 20 minutes. Watching the game is the part that will take you a little bit longer, which you should do anyways to get better at soccer. And you could then make a new highlight video or an additional highlight video from those clips. Which those coaches would like. Oh, if you said like, here's every touch video from this game and here's a highlight video from the weekend. That's great. Coaches would love that. And of course you want to make sure you send them good information. If you're not sure if it's a good clip or a bad game or a good game, send it to me and I will help you. Now, the reason you need that full game also is coaches are going to ask you, especially if you don't want to go to ID camps like a maniac, 'Can we please see a full game?' Every single coach can ask for it. If you get an email from Washington and Lee, which is a Division III school on the East Coast, they are an amazing school. Great academics, great soccer, very expensive, but they give good academic scholarships from time to time. They want 2 full game videos where you are giving the timestamps to them. And don't forget to put your jersey number and your color. I just got a message from a college coach who is at High Point, and he said, look, all these kids are not putting in their numbers and their colors of their jerseys when they send their emails, and that is a huge mistake. So please make sure you do that. Okay, at this point, you should pretty much understand how to make the perfect, amazing, lovely highlight video, but odds are you probably will want some help.
