A college soccer recruiting coach says the missing piece for most players is an every-touch video showing all ball interactions in a match, not just highlights. Coaches are far more likely to respond and offer scholarships when they see complete footage. He recommends using Trace automation or manual screen-recording to build these videos.

If you don't add this one thing to your recruiting process, you are going to decrease the chance of you getting recruited by like tenfold. Coaches are going to stop responding to you or they're going to take a break or they're going to forget or they're going to pause or they're going to love you but then not message you back. And there's this one thing will help them respond back to you. This episode is brought to you by Sweetgreen. Looking forward to you having your next meal. I just bought a bunch. It's amazing. So that one thing is an every-touch video. A lot of my students, and we've been finding this really often, will hear from a coach, get really interested in them, then when the season starts, or maybe the coach gets sick or goes on vacation, or a million other aspects. And then the player will say politely, I just want to update you with an EveryTouch video. What's the beauty of these EveryTouch videos is they really show us a lot more about you as a player. Now, assuming you are a good soccer player, these EveryTouch videos will make you look great. It shows us your technique, it shows us you up close, it shows every touch you took in a whole game. Versus a highlight video, which to be honest with you, the highlight video is just there to go, is this player competent? Okay, they're competent. I need more. That's most videos. In my career of helping kids play college soccer, I think I've seen 2 videos where I've been like, okay, that video I know is enough. And within that highlight video, they had a lot of every-touch moments from full games. And in making every-touch videos, if you have Trace, it's really easy. It can make— literally take no time at all because there's an automation. Otherwise, you can easily still make every-touch videos by screen recording every single touch you take in your game. And sending that along to coaches. I have a student right now who I think is a really great player playing ECNL RL. Okay, I think this player is a potential Division I soccer player, but just because I think so doesn't mean other coaches necessarily will. Now, my job is to give him a good analysis, so hopefully I am correct. But the point is this: coaches are going to see his video and go, "I don't know." And that's how I felt when I saw it. But then I told him, "Look, I've watched your whole video multiple times over," which I will do, but college coaches will not. And upon doing so, I said, look, if we make you in every touch video against a good opponent because you're a good player, you're going to do well and the college coaches are going to like you. So naturally, that's what we're doing with this player. They're a left back and I'm very excited. I'll give you updates, but that player is going to get recruited.
