How to reply to recruitment emails from sports coaches. Keep your response in the same email thread, confirm the coach's target class year and position, and assess their follow-up to gauge if they're genuinely interested or just sending templates. For 8th-10th graders getting Division I emails, text the coach after replying.

This is how you respond when you receive a generic robot email. You could use the AI system if you want to, but we would prefer if you do it in the same chain. Dear coach, thank you for the invite to camp. May I confirm you're looking for the class of— and then obviously you put your information and you don't say anything else. Nothing else. If they respond with, we are looking, then it means a couple things. If they respond with yes, this is when you have to rank the genuineness. They might go yes, say nothing else. Well, that's not very genuine. They clearly read your email, didn't probably watch your video. And maybe they say, look, we're really looking for your position, and I watched your video after your response, and we'd really like you to come. Well, that's very genuine. So the purpose again is to get a genuine response and then rank it. Now remember, please go to Chapter 3B in order to know not only how to respond, but like, we get really specific when you get a generic email. It's really important, and it's in the chapter before. So please, if you're skipping, please go back and watch that because there's a lot more to it. They leave their email, they leave their Instagram, they leave their ID camp dates. We need to make a note of those things. So generic emails are actually really helpful. Now let's say you're in 8th to 10th grade and you, right, are getting a generic email from a D1 coach. I still want you to text them, but we're going to say, hey, I understand you can't talk to me right at this time, but you're still going to do it. Now, if you want to know, like, in regards to how to respond to the text they receive for you, then it gets a little bit more spicy, and we have to talk about that because it depends per person how we're going to do that. But this is key in the email generic process, that we still take each email very seriously.
