A coach breaks down how to email college soccer coaches: include your GPA, graduation year, club level, location, and budget. Club level matters most. Make it about the coach, not you, with specific details about the school. His clients have landed scholarships from $60,000 to $250,000.

How should you be writing your college soccer email if you want to play college soccer? When you write your college soccer email, 5 things matter: your GPA, your grad year, your club level, your location, and your budget. Your GPA and your grad year are things that aren't going to hopefully change drastically. You hopefully are not going to take a gap year, and you're hopefully not going to get worse grades. So that tells you what kind of schools are realistic for you, but more importantly, you've got to put those in your email. Now the biggest one out of all the 5 I mentioned, while you might think it's budget, it's really the club level. If you are not able to express in your email what club level you're playing, and frankly if it's not an impressive level, you will get less responses. It's as simple as that. So you want to be playing at a high-level club so you can get better responses. Now of course your budget matters, and of course location matters, because that's how you're going to decide whether you want to live close to home, far away from home, and whether or not you can afford the school. Now part of the goal, especially if you work with me, is to get you a scholarship of a minimum of $60,000 upwards of $250,000, and that's been our record so far for all of our students. But to do that, you have to write this very well-crafted email. And it sounds simple, I'll just tell them about myself. Well, it's not about you, it's actually about them. And this is a life lesson that you need to learn whether it's for college soccer or applying for a job one day. The more you talk about them, the more likely they're gonna respond about you. So of everything I mentioned, You have to put that in the email. But if you write the genuine aspect well, you will get a more likely response if you're emailing realistic schools. So part of my job is to tell you what is realistic, and I have to watch your video, get to know you a little bit as a person, find out what your goals are to give you that list. But then you must say something genuine. Genuine things can be everything from, my brother went to your school, my cousin's at your school, I watched your team play, I've been to your campus since I was 6 years old. If you're emailing the top schools like UCLA's and Stanford's, Genuine doesn't work on them very well 'cause everybody feels the same. But if you're emailing a Washington and Lee, a University of Chicago, NYU, then it means a lot because then the coaches are going, oh, you put out effort to learn about me and comment on the coaching and the coaching staff, not only on the school. The coaches are the ones that wanna sign you, so they're the ones you wanna brag about and impress. If you want more help, give me a call. Link's in the bio.
