Overnight soccer camps work differently depending on your age. Before 7th grade, they're fun and build interest. In 8th-10th grade, attend camps at schools you actually want to play for, where coaches can see how you act and interact. The speaker got recruited from a three-day Cal Poly camp.

What are your thoughts on soccer overnight summer camps? Do you recommend them? So it depends how old you are. If you're like below the age of 7th grade, I think they're great. They give you an understanding, they're like super fun, you just play soccer all day, and if your child really loves it, then all of a sudden you're like, oh, my child might want to play college soccer, we should start taking steps to do that. So overnight camps when they're really young is a great idea. When you're in the high school recruiting process, 8th, 9th, 10th grade, it depends. If it's a dream school, I think it's a really good idea to go to. For example, I went to a Cal Poly sleepover camp that was 2 nights, 3 days, and that's where I got recruited. Because the coaches got to see me every day. What time I showed up, what did I eat, what time did I help the players around me, did I say hello? So they really got to know me as a person. So I do recommend the overnights. But if you're gonna do an overnight one, I'd recommend there being multiple schools there, not just like an individual school. Now if it's your dream individual school, there's an exception to that. And the truth is, Sean Takes, what you need is genuine interest. So really, you shouldn't go to any ID camp unless there's some level of genuine interest from the coach or it's your dream school Or if you're on the younger side, meaning you're in 7th, 8th, 9th grade, you should just go to the camp because it's your dream school, get an experience, take that in, and then decide the strategy after that.
