Two coaches discuss Billy, a player heading to the transfer portal. They notice his attitude shifting, suspect family trouble, and decide to support him through the move rather than block it. A good coach helps players transfer, not punishes them for leaving.

Hey, assistant coach, so we have a meeting today with one of our players who wants to come in. I have a feeling that he wants to transfer.
Oh, you're talking about Billy?
Yeah, I think Billy does want to transfer. His attitude's just been terrible, and I just don't think he's interested in training, so he probably does want to transfer. What does that mean for our recruiting process?
Because he's been a starter for us.
I think he's just had some family things. I think he still likes us, but you know, life happens, and we're gonna have to look to replace him. So tell me, who's on our recruiting list right now? Billy, come on in. We want to talk. Take a seat.
Hey, Coach, you know, thanks so much for giving the time to, to talk to me. I think you know I'm having some difficulty right now, and I'm not really in the mood to, to be here any longer. I'm going to enter the portal, and, you know, I just want to really say thank you because I appreciate everything you've done for me, but I'm going to be leaving.
Hey, Billy, we're really going to miss you. You know, we, we want you to have the best life you can, and, you know, we want to make sure we can help you in this recruiting process. I'm breaking the fourth wall to tell you guys that when this happens, if the coach responds like that, that means this is a very good coach because he's trying to help this player. When you're being recruited, if you don't think the coach would help you transfer, even if you never want to transfer, and I frankly hope you never have to transfer, then it's a bad coach and don't go with them if they're not going to be nice about it. But this coach is being nice. Okay. So we do want to help you transfer. You know, we want to help you with the process. Just let us know what you need. We totally get it.
Hey coach, that means a lot to me. You know, I really appreciate it. You know, I really appreciate it. Then, you know, I wish you guys the best of luck.
All right, Coach, so it's for sure he's going to transfer. So I'm looking at our, you know, recruiting list here, like, what are we going to do? Well, make a call. I told you to email Billy, see if we can get Billy over here to get him for the ID camp. We got to see him at the ID camp.
Okay, sorry, Coach, I'm on it. Do it right now.
If you want more help with the college recruiting process, give us a call. Link's in the bio, and we will talk to you soon.
