This simple trick can help you get twice as many responses from college coaches. Text the schools. I would say 40 to 60% of the time, the coaches leave their cell phones in the email. If you see a C or an M in the email, do not be shy. Send them a text. If you are a sophomore or junior, sending them a text will be a game changer. First of all, obviously they left their cell phone for a reason, so you have permission to text them. You can cold call them, but it's not as efficient 'cause they won't know, recognize your number. When you text them, you wanna say a version of, "Dear coach, we exchanged emails earlier. You invited me to your camp. I just wanted to briefly introduce myself. Here's my video. Look forward to talking to you soon." If they respond 'cause you're a junior, great, amazing. If they don't respond because you're a sophomore still, that's okay too. Now they know who you are and you can gently every couple months say, "Hey coach, I know you're not allowed to respond," or, "Hey coach, I know you're allowed to respond." "I just wanna send you an update." And now you have their cell phone number. The value of this as a sophomore is huge because then you can develop this relationship and they can put a name to your number. Same if you're a junior. Them getting to know you, and sophomore, junior, this is your time to shine. They are paying attention to you. Then you wanna text them. If you comment the word phone and you're watching this on IG, I can send you a list of what you should do when you get on a phone call with them after texting them. If you're on TikTok watching this, comment call, and I can send you a link so we can get on a call with you and your family.
