A college athlete can move from Division III to Division I football if they can afford camps and coaching exposure. Thomas Herzog did it from Hartwick by sending videos and emails to coaches directly, since D1 coaches don't scout D3 players. Money and persistence are the real barriers.

What does it take to go from D3 to D1 once playing D3? The biggest thing, honestly, actually is your budget. Do you have the money to spend to go to ID camps again and to retake classes? So the main reason players don't switch is not because they're not good enough. It's because they have to retake classes and, or you have to move and you have to start sometimes the education process again. So that is really the biggest hurdle. Despite that, if budget's not an issue or you think you can get a scholarship, then the biggest thing is you need to go to camps because the coaches won't have watched you in person. And you need to get accolades. But I say this, there's a player, his name is Thomas Herzog. This is one of our former students. He actually has a TikTok page where he uses a lot of the same strategies that I gave him and is helping players. Thomas Herzog went from Hartwick, a relatively mid-tier D3 program, wasn't the best player in the league per se, and then he went to Division 1. So what he did was he used our strategies to go from D3 to D1, and we sent lots of emails, lots of video, and we followed up many times. So a lot of it really just comes down to exposure. You know, how can they know about you? There's, they don't know, they don't go actively recruiting Division III unless you're like the best player, cuz they're like, maybe you wanna stay there for the education or you can't afford to move. There's a lot of different factors. So the truth is it varies per player. And can you please book a call for me to tell you what it's like for you?
