College Soccer Guy advises freshman center midfielders to build recruitment videos around through balls and playmaking, not just goals. He recommends pairing highlight reels with full-game "every-touch" edits showing all passes and movements, using Toni Kroos's Barcelona performance as a model.
So first of all, as a freshman, what we'd be looking for is not only video, but as a center mid, we want to see your through balls. So when you give us your video, goals and assists can always come first. So this is where you're playing in a holding position or maybe an attacking center mid, and you play a ball into the striker on the ground so they're in on goal, or to a winger where they ping it to the other side and it's through and over the defense so that way you could be helping your team move forward. Center mid, sometimes you don't have that many goals and assists, and sometimes you're the one dictating everything. But, you know, you can't always show that in a highlight video. So you need what's called a full game video that you cut down to become an every touch. Toni Kroos took against Barcelona. I'm a defensive center mid. So if you go look up Zev Taublieb on YouTube, you'll see a bunch of every touch videos from my high school days, my college days, and my pro days. I'm the College Soccer Guy, and I help you play college soccer. Comment "call" and we can schedule a call with you and your parents.
