Major recruiting tournaments like FLEX and FAST account for roughly 60% of college scouting. Send coaches a genuine pre-event email asking for a handshake, then follow up with game footage after the tournament. Coaches trust footage from tournaments they know because it shows the actual competition level.

So FLEX and FAST are really big tournaments. Probably 60% of the recruiting process are done at events like that. So it's great that you got to go. First of all, I hope that when you sent the email out leading up to it, you had said something like, dear coach, I hope this finds you well, something genuine, and may I shake your hand in person? Because if you said that, it's very possible they would have either said yes and now you have a meeting. They would have said no, I'm not able to shake your hand in person, but now I know who you are. Or 3, I'm going to try and come and watch your game. So that one question would have gotten you 3 or 4 different kinds of responses. You're going to find out from your coach or your admin who came to your games, and you're going to follow up with those teams first. Then you're going to follow up with every school that you think might have come to your game, and then you're going to follow up with every school whether they came to your game or not. There's two reasons for that. One, your footage from this tournament is so valuable. It's like killing a bear. It could feed you for winter. You can use this footage for 6 months, and the college coaches will love it more than any other footage because they know what the level is. They were at the tournament. So you want to follow up with everybody with video. I'm the College Talk Guy, and I would of course help you do all those things based on your situation. So if you want help, comment "call" and we can schedule a call with you and your parents.
