Should you go to a 2-day ID camp or a 1-day ID camp? I'm the College Soccer Guy. I help you play college soccer. Let's get into it. The short answer is 2-day ID camps are almost always better. Now, what trumps all of that is if you have genuine interest from the coach, because if they really want to see you, then you should go to the 1-day camp because they can see you. A 3-day ID camp is like even better, of course, but a 3-day ID camp traditionally means there's multiple schools going and it's more expensive, so it can vary. Obviously, the main reason a 2-day ID camp is better is just because it's more time to see you. I would say 80% of the time, if you go to a 1-day ID camp of a D1 one school, they're just going to say, hey, it was great to see you, we didn't really get to see enough of you, which is super frustrating. What's your showcase schedule? What's, you know, what's your schedule? How do we see more of you? If they like you. The problem with that question is if you're not playing MLS Next or ECNL, they're really not going to come to your league games or your high school games, which then makes it very difficult to play Division 1 soccer even though you just went to their camp. So number 1, gauge it based off if it was genuine or generic first. Number 2, prioritize a 2-day ID camp. Remember, you're going to be assigned to a coach, and basically whoever your coach is is going to get to see the most, which is a luck of the draw. I know personally I went to so many ID camps that were a waste of time. But eventually it did lead me to an ID camp at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and my coach for the 3 days was a guy named Phil Ruskin, who was the coach of a D1 school in Indiana that I never heard of. They liked me, I went on a visit, and I got a full ride, and it was because of that ID camp. If you want more help playing college soccer, give me a call. Links in the bio. Bye.
