In this instructional video, Zev Taublieb explains how aspiring college soccer players should set up their Instagram (and X/Twitter) content to capture the attention of college coaches. He emphasizes avoiding horizontal, screen‑recorded clips and instead using a vertical 9:16 format, zooming in on the player’s technique, and recording close‑up training footage with a tripod or phone. These visual strategies give coaches a clear view of the athlete’s motion and make the content more watchable, increasing the likelihood of reposts, tags, or direct contact. Taublieb also stresses the importance of consistent, repeatable exposure—making coaches feel they’ve “seen you a million times”—and concludes with a call‑to‑action to contact his service via the link in his bio for further help with college soccer recruitment.

How do you set up your Instagram so that way college coaches will actually watch you on your social media and Twitter or X? So the first thing for Instagram is a lot of you guys tag me in your videos and you're tagging me in horizontal mode. You guys are young kids. That looks like boomers. Okay? When you post your video, make sure you zoom in. So do not post the same screen record from YouTube onto your Instagram. You need to zoom in so it looks like this landscape effect and then recircle yourself so it looks like I can see you. The reason it's so important is This is another angle of you playing soccer, right? I've got your zoomed out angle for VO and Trace via YouTube. Now I want the zoomed in angle so I can really see your technique, your motion, and connect with you. So if you tag me on Instagram in horizontal mode, I'm not going to repost it and I'm not going to watch it. I can barely see who you are and it's not pleasurable to watch. If on the other hand you zoom in and you make it look really nice, then I do want to watch it and I'll probably tag you or I'll repost you or I'll want to schedule a call with you if I like the video. If you don't really understand what I'm saying, go on my Instagram page and you'll see there's not a single video that's in horizontal mode. All of it is in this mode, what we call 9:16. When you have your training videos, you can also just record your phone like this or zoom in later, and you can record yourself with a tripod at training. Coaches love training videos. It says you practice afterwards, it lets us see you up close. It's not what's going to be the reason to get recruited, but that's what you should have on your social media. I'm probably on your For You page right now and you're like, I've seen that guy a million times. That's what we want the college coaches to feel. I've seen you a million times. Make them follow you. If you want more help playing college soccer, give us a call. Link's in the bio. Talk soon.
