Can I play D1 if I am playing JV?
In this YouTube monologue, the speaker recounts how he transformed from a junior varsity benchwarmer in Southern California to earning a full Division I soccer scholarship. He emphasizes the pivotal mindset of being open‑minded about school locations, which broadened his recruiting pool. He describes his proactive strategy of emailing every Division I program to gauge interest, then targeting camps that aligned with his schedule. While attending a Cal Poly San Luis Obispo camp he initially received an offer that was later rescinded, but the same camp also featured Valparaiso University (Indiana), which ultimately offered him a full ride. He praises the coaches, teammates, and overall experience at Valparaiso. The video concludes with a call to action: viewers can comment “quiz” to receive a questionnaire designed to help them select appropriate schools and camps.
