If you try out for an MLS NEXT team and you do not make it, here are the 5 things you need to do under 60 seconds. I'm the MLS NEXT guy and I help you play MLS NEXT or ECNL. After the tryout, if you don't make it, make sure you thank the coach, not only with a handshake, but send them an email as well afterwards and say, "Thank you so much for the opportunity. I really appreciate it." That's number 1. Number 2, I know you're going to want to ask like, "What could you do? What could you do to get better?" But there's a very likely chance they're not going to tell you or they'll just be too busy. So then you need to go to your club coach, your private coach, maybe me, and say, What is it that I need to improve on to get better at soccer? Number 3, go find a different team to try out for, whether it be Easton IL or MLS Next. Coaching is subjective. Just because they said no to you doesn't mean that is a fact. I personally played JV soccer, went on to play Division 1 college soccer, and was told no dozens of times, but I was probably pretty good, but I needed the right coach to find me. You can also look at a bunch of pro soccer players who were all told no in their careers. Griezmann was told no. Haaland was told no. Lampard was told no. De Bruyne was told no. It's about finding the right coach. Number 4, go back to a club level where you can play minutes and make sure you're very nice to that coach, because you're gonna probably try out for another team again. You want to keep a good relationship with your current club coach. Number 5, send me your video, because if I see your video, then maybe I can tell you, look, you need to try out again and again and again, but you're not the level yet, but keep going. Or I might say to you, hey, you did really well, you should go somewhere else. I don't know until I see your video. If you want more help, give me a call. Links in the bio. Talk soon. Bye.
