Female soccer players should hand coaches a personal pamphlet at showcases, track which coaches attend, and follow up with emails asking if they actually watched. Send an every-touch video from the game rather than another highlight reel, unless you already have strong highlights to share.
Chapters
3 of the most important lessons before showcase as a girl soccer player. Number 1, you must create your own pamphlet separate from your club's. You will walk past coaches, you will see them getting lunch, going to the bathroom, going to the parking lot, and you should hand them your pamphlet. Mom, dad, coach, your manager needs to keep track of who was at the game so you can follow up with them. When you follow up with them, you are going to say this: Dear coach, I was told that you may have been in attendance at our game. I really appreciate you coming. May I ask if you were able to watch our game? First of all, it's very important to always have a question when we write most of our emails, but also we're not really sure if they did see as much of the game as we think. Maybe they were at the game for 5 minutes and left. We need the coaches to tell us a little bit more and find out. If you know they were at your game, you could change the question to, I really appreciate you coming. I'd love any feedback. Is there anything specific you think I should work on? The only reason I don't love that question is most of the time they're watching kind of for scouting purposes. They're not really looking to make you better, and they're looking at many players, so they're just less likely to respond to that. Third is you need to often make an every-touch video from the showcase. Better, honestly, to make one of the games into an every-touch video than making a highlight video of the whole thing, especially if you already sent your highlight video out. They don't want more highlights. They want to see an every-touch video more often than not. Now, if you have great highlights, then make a highlight video and make every-touch videos.
