Youth College Soccer Guy tells young players to start planning for college soccer by age ten if they want to reach elite club teams like ECNL and MLS Next. A sophomore goalkeeper he spoke with said those teams are already packed with established keepers, making it nearly impossible for newcomers to get spots. The message: commit early to a club and perform consistently, or you'll be locked out.
Why do you need to think about playing college soccer when you're 10 years old? I know that sounds crazy, but listen to this. I'm the Youth College Soccer Guy and I help you play MLS next and ECNL. There's a meeting I recently had with a sophomore and he's talking about how all the club teams are full. He is a goalkeeper, so it's even more difficult.
Uh, yeah, so the club teams in the area are all kind of taken by other keepers whose spots are secure, and I'm talking about like club teams that are like ECNL and MLS Next. The keepers there I know are very strong and have been on their teams for a while.
They're very strong and have been on their teams for a while. That's the key right there. Been on their teams for a while. I want you to be on the team for a while and I want you to be good because you would have been within that team. That needs to be you. You don't want to be this guy who we're going to help, of course, and he's a really good player, so he'll be fine. And we're gonna have to do a lot of work. But I don't want that to be you. I want you to go, I am on the team that I need to be on. If you want more help, you can DM me and we'll talk soon. Bye.
