Hey Coach, like, I'm about to get ready for a phone call. It's so exciting. I've never had a phone call with a college coach. I cannot wait. I'm only a sophomore, which is even more amazing, because I've listened to your advice. Like, what should I do for the call? Well, first of all, congratulations on your call. Thank you for listening to my advice. I'm really glad it's helping you. The biggest thing I always tell people for calls especially is ask questions about them. They're gonna ask you, how's the recruiting process going? Which is really why it's super important that you've also talked to other schools, because you don't want to say nothing. You want to be like, I've spoken to other schools as well, but you want to ask them about them. Why do you like coaching at this school? How many kids do you have, if they have a family? Which you already know the answer to these questions, you just have to look it up on their bio. You're not asking the question necessarily to learn. You're asking the questions to show that you care. This is an interview, and the best way to impress anybody, and this is true probably for life, is to ask them questions. If they do the talking, they're much more likely to like you. If you do the entire talking the entire time, even though you're a kid, they won't have the same appreciation for you. They will have a better appreciation for you if you're mature and you say, why do you like coaching? Where did you start coaching? How many kids do you have? Do they play soccer? What did you study? What do you— why do you like coaching at X school? They will be like, who is this adult? They're only 15 years old as a sophomore. Like, I want them to be the captain of my team. Coach, that is absolutely brilliant. I cannot wait for my phone call. I'm going to kill it. You want more help? Schedule call. Comment call and we can schedule call with you and your parents.
