Two coaches discuss how to get recruited. Ask thoughtful questions and coaches notice. Build a tiered list from UCLA and Northwestern down to realistic backups, then email and social media coaches relentlessly until they know your name.
What advice would I tell myself in the recruiting process? My recruiting process was a little different, but that's a good question. Did Zev set you up for that? No. I'm just kidding.
The college coaches know sometimes when we help you guys with the videos and if we help you with good questions because I learn from him. He's the one that tells me what he wants you to ask. I tell my students and that gives my students a little upper edge when they do it. So the reason he was making that joke is because he knows that we educate our students and that kid who asked the question is one of our students and he raised his hand, which we encourage him to do. He asked a question. Now he's going to— now the coach knows who he is. It was a good question. This is what it takes to get recruited.
If I was your agent, I would, I would utilize all the platforms better. That would use digital social platforms and contact all these things better at a much higher level. I know I'm saying I would be proactive. I would do all the social, the social media stuff to connect to coaches. I would do emails. I would be persistent and I would also be realistic. So I would be shooting for UCLA, yes, and Northwestern and this, but I also have another layer of schools that I'm also saying these would be good ones too. And I would be doing both of those, you know, because I think sometimes kids just like just are shooting for this top ones and then nothing happens because they, they're full, right? So I would use the contact stuff tremendously. I'd be persistent and I'd have layers of schools that I'd be Hitting.
I know you guys all know about the big D1 programs, but I want you to comment the word D3 and I'll give you a list of schools that are really good that you should also be considering while you attack all your big girl, big boy, big girl schools. But these D3 schools are incredible.
