Coach, the UC Berkeley coach today, and we previously thought you had to have a 4.0 GPA, beyond that, the coach literally told us, we want good kids and we will figure out the GPA stuff. Not all the time, but that's something just to remember. You don't have to feel like you have to have a perfect GPA, and does that mean I can't play at a good school? There are exceptions.
Now, do you need above a 3.0? Yes. Could you get away with it according to NCAA rules if it's lower than that? According to NCAA rules, yes, but that's not where you wanna be. So obviously your grades matter, but what's important about this is that your soccer really matters. So if you're very good at soccer and they like you and they know you, then you have a better chance. So if you are a junior or a sophomore, you wanna get in front of these coaches often. And there are 3 ways that are in your control to do that. Video, emails, Showcases, while something you are— is important, is not in your control. You don't pick which ones you go to. You also don't know if the coaches will come, but every other one is in your control.
