Two coaches break down how youth soccer players get recruited to college: start in 7th or 8th grade, attend showcases where college coaches watch, play in scouted games, make highlight videos, and get your club coach to voicemail a college coach. Most of it is up to you.

If you do these 4 things, you will get recruited to play college soccer if you do them every single year starting in 8th, 9th grade, or frankly, as early as possible. And this is coming from a high academic college soccer coach who you're going to listen to right now.
And this is probably the most important part, is you want 4 major touchpoints every year, right? And so as early as possible.
Every year and as early as possible. Did you hear him say that? Every year and as early as possible, okay? Early means 7th, 8th grade. That's what early means. Don't be on time, be early. Why would you show up to the Apple Store on time? All the phones will be gone. Show up early. There is no on time. It's either late or early. That's it.
The touch points being you want to make sure that a coach sees you in your environment, right? If you're a club team, your high school team, whatever it is, you want the coach to see you at a camp so they can work with you. You want a coach to make sure that under any circumstance, right, as, as you're progressing through the camp stuff is going through this, that they've seen highlight videos of you as well so they can get an updated highlight video. So we'll talk about those details. And then you want this coach that I'm talking about to vouch for your daughter, right, to speak to this college coach for you. So that— your goal is to have those 4 touch points every single year, right? And how do you do that? You know, you have to obviously— with a highlight video, it's more than once a year. Highlight video will probably be, you know, 10 different highlight videos maybe, or 5 different highlight videos. Per year. Camp, maybe 1 or 2. Games, hopefully more than 1 or 2. And then a coach voucher for you, it depends, right? So just make sure you understand how do we impact our recruitment, and that's how you impact your recruitment the most.
That now, that coach he's talking about that can make calls on your behalf, want somebody who's with you every day in person, that is your club coach. The problem with your club coach is they are often not willing to make the call 5 times to 1 coach because they're so busy. The college coaches don't always pick up the phone, and your club coaches are scared to make calls on your behalf because if they call the college coach and they end up not liking you, your college coach will lose his reputation about being somebody who knows what they're talking about. So the best way to get this weight of gold coach to make calls for you is actually to go get the interest on your own first. Then tell your club coaches, this college coach really likes me. would you please leave him a voice message? Odds that they pick up the phone is so unlikely, then you follow up with the college coach and you say, hey, my coach left you a voice message. The college coach doesn't need to hear the voice message. They know what they said. Kid's a good kid, nice player, good job, whatever. They already know. But to have evidence of them called is great. So to tell your club coaches, hey, could you just leave him a voicemail? That's no problem. They'll do that for you for sure. And guess what? They're not going to do that for every kid equally, okay? Because your club coaches are paid by the club. So they may not even make calls for you, which is very frustrating. Hence why that fourth model of getting recruited, you have to be mindful of because that's asking someone to do something out of your control. Everything else is in your control, video, camp, et cetera. If you want more help, comment the word quiz
