College soccer coaches skip regular league games, so attend showcases and camps instead. Message every school you're interested in afterward, and don't be selective unless you have an offer. UCLA's Division III club team requires a highlight video and competitive tryout as an alternative route.

In truth, the coaches will often ask you guys, what is your schedule? Because yes, they do want to know, but they're not going to come to your league games. Okay, and I— they're going to see this video at some point in the future, but odds are they're not going to come, not because they don't want to, but they don't have the budget to go to every single league game that you guys play. These are why those showcases or camps like this one are so important. So for you juniors, after the camp, message everybody you're interested in. If you don't want to go to a certain school That's okay. Part of me would say to you, if you don't have any offers, you don't have the privilege to be picky unless you're willing not to play soccer, which is also okay. You can play club soccer. For those of you that— I live in Westwood, so UCLA's right there. To try out for the club team, 500 kids try out for that club team. It's a Division III level club team, and it's very hard to play for the team, and you have to send them a highlight video also. My point is to say, if you are willing to not play soccer, you can be very picky about your environment. However, if you dream of playing college soccer, that's what you really want, you do not have the privilege until you have an offer from a school you like to be picky about who you email on any camps. But in terms of emailing schools that you may not be on the top of your list, you have to stay open-minded. Does that make sense? Okay, awesome. Comment the word top academic if you want a list of D3 high academic schools with the best camps.
