Skip the big-name soccer camps like Nike and IMG Academy. College-affiliated camps like UCLA and Tudela give your kid the same training but with college coaches watching, which can lead to club team recommendations.

What camp should you avoid if you're in 4th, 5th, 6th, or 7th grade? I'm the How to Play MLS Next Generation guy, and these are the camps. So if you go to like a Nike camp or an IMG Academy one or anything with La Liga, all those are great for fun and they're all great for getting better at soccer. None of them progress you. My argument is, why don't you go to a camp that can probably equally or close to equally progress you but also would have you get seen by a coach? And at that age, while they do of course keep an eye on the kids that are a little bit better, they They know that at that age you're just developing and you're young and you're trying to get involved. So if you were to go to UCLA camp instead, that's a way better idea because the UCLA coach may say, "Hey, son or mom or dad, your kid's really good. You know, I work with the UCLA coaches," because they may not be the actual UCLA coach, "and I'm part of Tudela and you should come to Tudela because we're really good." For example, the assistant coaches at UCLA coach at Tudela. Or other coaches coach for Beach, they coach for TFA. All these college coaches coach for the club team. So if you want to get to the club team, go try out for the college team that the college coach is affiliated with, and then you'll have a better chance with the club team. If you want my help, give me a DM. I'll talk to you. Bye.
