A high school soccer player should send one personalized email per month to top 25 schools, attaching a training video. Start with 100 emails to various programs, narrow to the 20-50 that respond, then maintain contact with about 50 schools by emailing each coach four times a year.

Also, or kids, anything about the recruiting process you're worried about in your own situation? Don't ask— you don't have to ask me a general question. What about you? Ask me about you personally. Do any questions come to mind? Have you sent an email, you don't know how to respond to it? Yes. How many times should I be emailing a coach throughout the year? In the Zoom meeting that you saw with Rod, he mentioned the concept of 4 touch points. This means that throughout the year you need 4 reasons to be seen in person That does not include email, etc. So she's asking specifically email. I tell people, uh, what grade are you in? She's a sophomore. So if you were a junior, you have to rank it up, right? You'd have to be like literally 2 to 3 times a month. But if you're a sophomore, I would tell you if you do 1 a month to your top 25 schools with a video— you're a goalkeeper, so you need a training video which is separate from game video. I want a video of just your side volleys. Playing with boys would be incredible, even if it's like something— you have that? Get that on video. Literally, that's better than playing ECNL. Literally, playing with boys is better than ECNL. So, or yeah, so there's that. So video boys, it's the reason that's so important is if a girl's comfortable playing with boys, it tells us one, they're comfortable being in an environment they're not comfortable in. Two, boys traditionally speaking are more athletic at their age. And three, you are doing a really good job against players that are really good. You guys know the Thompson sisters? So I was their coach— I was not their coach, but I coached Harvard-Westlake when they were there, and they would train with the boys all the time. That is a huge one from a college recruiting perspective. So going back to how many emails to send, I would say you— what the strategy that I do, which everyone will have a different one, is I start you really broad. We send you— we have you send about 100 emails to different schools, and then after the first round, we see who responds. Of the ones that respond, which usually, depending on if your video is good, is about 20 to 50, Then you shrink that list and you email about 50 schools 4 times throughout the year, minimum. So to answer your question, you're really sending— we call it tunnel emailing. So instead of sending many emails, you're sending 1 email many times to 1 coach. And remember, there are 4 coaches in every team. So if you send 1 team an email, that's 4 emails. So if you send 50 or 100 schools, that's 500 emails, which is a lot, okay? There are some technologies out there. I have one of them that helps you make it genuine so it doesn't take the whole life because you guys have school. But to answer your question, I would say as a sophomore, I would be sending a minimum of an email a month, whether it be to your school. Now, what do you email? You're at an ID camp. That's an email. I have a video. That's an email. I'm at a showcase. That's an email. Telling us you're at a showcase, even if you don't have video, is actually super helpful because that tells us you're playing at a club level where your parents have the budget to send you to those environments. Which means you probably have the budget for school and you're going to be at a place where they could come see you. So great question.
