What every JV soccer player needs to hear. How I went from Division I soccer after starting at the bottom. You must know that you don't deserve it. You don't deserve to play college soccer. Less than 5% of kids will play college soccer. Less than 3% will play Division I soccer. For you to believe that you just deserve it because you want it, you're out of your mind. And the reason this is important is because once you understand that this is a privilege, you should become open-minded to reaching out to many different types of schools. To say to yourself, I deserve to play college soccer and I'm just gonna play Division I soccer, and only email Division I schools is frankly ignorant and rude to the college coaches that work their tail off at all the other levels. Until you've earned the right, meaning you have significant interest from Division IIIs and significant interest from Division IIs, you cannot only email Division Is. Now, you should be emailing Division Is at the same time as you email the DIIIIs and DIIIs. Maybe email DIIIIs first, 'cause it will help you reach out to the DIs. But to think that you just deserve it because you want it then I don't want to work with you. You must understand this is a privilege, and to be knowing it's a privilege, you'll be open-minded to reaching out to other schools. If you want more help, comment, call, and we can schedule a call with you and your parents.
