What is MLS Next 2?

What is it that you need to know about the new MLS NEXT 2 league? At the end of this video, I'm going to give you a surprise, so make sure you wait till the end because it's going to help you find a bunch of clubs in your area. So the new MLS NEXT 2 league, here's the bottom line, what you need to know. Whenever you're trying to find your goal of playing college soccer, it doesn't matter what club team you're going to play on— asterisk— because if you play minutes, it matters. If your coach is a good person, if you're getting exposure by showcases, there's a bunch of different variables. So in that case, I would tell you, if you're not sure, give me a call, description's below, and we can talk about your situation. But On the whole, MLS Next 2 is going to be really good because it's going to go to all the MLS Next Flex events and all the MLS Next events, which means it will get the exposure. So my prediction is in time, probably 3 to 4 years, it will be much better than ECNL RL, way better than Elite Academy or NAL, and it will become probably MLS Next, ECNL, and MLS Next 2. Probably there's USL Academy, which is pretty good, but it's a very high level, but there's no showcases. That's the problem. For MLS Next 2, there are going to be showcases. So if you are in 8th, 9th grade and you're part of a team that's MLS Next 2, that would be great because then there's opportunity to play MLS Next. You're on a team that could get exposure, and now Division 3, Division 2, Division 1 soccer might be in the cards for you. On the flip side, if you are a sophomore or junior right now and you're like, I don't know what to do, then it depends. You need to talk to your coach, you need to talk to your club. But in reality, MLS Next 2 is basically just what ECNL RL is, B team to ECNL. MLS Next 2 is that. Now MLS Next also owns Boys Elite Academy, so what they want to happen is just engulf all of those elite Academy into MLS Next 2 teams. Same with NAL, they just want to take all those over and they'll just have the MLS Next badge on them, but they still will be operated by the organization of NAL or Elite Academy because there's so many different clubs. But with the new MLS Next badge, you will then have the opportunity to then go to these showcases that you otherwise would not have been able to. Now you still need to go to camp, you probably need to go to 4 to 6 camps in a given year depending on how good you are and your level and how much current interest you have at this moment. But the MLS Next 2 league will play a huge difference in your life if you know how to use it. Now the surprise I wanted give you at the end of this video. Now the main question you're asking yourself is, should you play ECNL or MLS Next 2? The short answer is, if you are a boy, which is— this is only regarding you guys— I would just play ECNL. That's what I would do. However, if you are a 7th, 8th, 9th grader, then I would probably play MLS Next 2 because you're more closely related to an MLS Next team, assuming there is an MLS Next team within your club. If there's only an MLS Next 2 team and there's also, say, an ECNL option, the college coaches will still review ECNL higher than MLS Next 2. Now remember, showcases are all What matters, and camps. So all of this club stuff is really important if I was a club guru, but I'm not the club guru. I'm the college soccer guy. I'm here to help you play college soccer. So what actually matters is how many emails have you received talking about how much they love your video? How many phone calls have you had? Have you had your transcripts reviewed? Have you had a pre-read? Have you had a visit? Where are you in the process right now? And that's how we develop your plan. Then we can take your plan and go, these are the camps you need to go to. These are the showcases that we need to find out if you're attending. Where are the college coaches going to be? And the secret to this even if you don't work with me, is ask the college coaches. You email them, you say to them, I could play for this team or this team. Which one would you prefer I play for? They love answering those questions. It doesn't have to do with recruiting. It allows them to use their expertise. They can get invested in your process. So you can email them and say, coach, I'm debating between two different club teams. Which one would you recommend for me? So then you email the coaches and they may say, we're not sure. They may say you should go whichever one you love. Okay, well that's when you need a version of me or a version of some expert in this field like me to go, Yeah, the college coaches are telling you go anywhere, but I know what showcase they're being at. They're being nice to you because they don't want to piss off a club coach or a club director because, you know, they may have to work for them one day. Or maybe they just, you know, there are certain political games here. And so college coaches often don't want to get into the club world without pissing somebody off. I, on the other hand, don't give a rat's bad word because I only care about you. I only want you to play college soccer. So I'm not affiliated with any club or league, which is why hopefully you can always know that I'm telling you the truth. Just like I don't get paid by any camps to promote them. I just find out which ones are the best and I tell you about it. So having said that, That said that, make sure that when you're picking your club team or whoever else you wanna play for, that you're really more focusing on the coach and the how many showcases you're going to. Okay, thank you for waiting till the end of the video for the big surprise. The surprise is that if you go to my Instagram and you type in the word of your initials of your state, so let's say California, and then the word club, C-A club, on any of my videos on my Instagram, it will send you a DM with every single club team in your state. So make sure it's one word, CA club. If you want every single college in your state, you type in CA college, California college.
