Lou Young: There’s Voodoo In The Tutu

In this candid, humor‑laden interview, host SPEAKER A and former NFL player‑turned‑comedian Lou Young discuss a wide range of topics. They begin with playful banter about hygiene and strip‑club encounters before moving into modern hookup culture, the concept of "sex magic" and voodoo in the bedroom. The conversation shifts to Lou’s background: graduating early from Georgia Tech, five years in the NFL (including a Super Bowl 50 appearance), and his transition to a social‑media career that amassed a million followers, a Netflix film with Jamie Foxx, and an NAACP Image‑nominated podcast. They explore the challenges of dating, especially for a Black man navigating race, privilege, and apps like Raya, and recount a disastrous vacation with a basketball player. Lou reflects on fatherhood, describing how his daughter has softened his demeanor and heightened his protective instincts. He opens up about his mental‑health diagnoses—bipolar, ADHD, depression, anxiety—and his coping mechanisms, including therapy, physical activity, and a husky dog, while rejecting medication. The duo also delves into the business side of content creation: funding early projects with NFL money, reinvesting earnings, handling production, editing, and striving for virality without guaranteed returns. They touch on athlete economics, practice‑squad pay, NIL deals, and the evolving landscape of athletes leveraging personal brands. The conversation expands to the evolution of Lou’s podcast, co‑hosting dynamics, views on marriage and weddings as commercialized events, and his aspirations to transition into movies, setting accountability checkpoints for future projects. Throughout, the tone remains informal, humorous, and reflective, revealing Lou’s perspectives on relationships, identity, and personal growth.

Are you one of those guys that's like, go take a shower before I have sex with you?
You— and you've been in that strip club? Oh, wash that cooter. Wash it.
But what if it's not like a strip club?
Let's say you had two, uh, connecting flights. That's a lot of friction.
No, flights is different. You have to.
You see what I'm saying? You got— so you come home and I'm gonna do the same. I gotta wash. I'm gonna clean that thing before I go.
Yeah. Are you single?
I'm locked in.
Locked in with work or with God? Okay, usually girls say that, like, oh, we don't want to mess with energies, and it's like—
what you mean? That's a, that's a real thing.
Okay, I'm glad.
As a man, yeah, like, I'm starting to realize there is voodoo in the tutu for sure.
You believe in sex magic?
Oh yeah, especially you on Moskiti.
Manifest during sex?
I have had manifested things, especially, you know, when I'm receiving fellatio. Oh yeah, I just learned what that word means. I don't— definitely thought of some good-ass ideas.
Really?
Oh man, some of my best skits I had. I wanted to be on TV as a kid, right? So I would see like how The Rock played football and then got on, and now he's like this— he's a Golden Globe nominee. Or even like Like Shaquille O'Neal, like, this motherfucker will brand a Kit Kat bar.
Do you know him?
Not personally.
Oh, fuck. I could have asked you to introduce me to him. This is Talk Less. Talk less, do more. I don't know, it just bothers me when people refer to me as white.
I feel you on that. Like, why? American?
Yeah, it's like American white. Why are you trying to box me into this white bullshit? I have nothing to do with it. And then they said, just the fact that they said something like, basically you already have privilege just because— I don't know who was it, it was like Mike Bless was like, oh, if you get pulled over, they're gonna see you as white.
True, that is a fact though.
They're gonna look at my name and then be like, um, immigration status please.
What's your name, like your full name?
I'll show you my ID later. Nobody knows my last name, it's very long.
I had a Russian classmate in elementary school.
Really? What was their last name?
She used to bring this chocolate, like, is it like Russian chocolate, like with the gold wrapper?
Could be.
Like, isn't that—
that's my, that's my full name. That's my last name. Don't say it out loud.
Lesya Buzbravilova Buzvanik.
They're gonna look at this like, yeah, this shit is not— this is not white.
Yeah, that's like the— if you were to like talk about the Rocky to you.
Uh-huh, that's what Carlos talked about, uh, whatever, Apollo Creed and all that shit. I don't know nothing about it.
I'm just like, you never watch the movie?
I have.
You ever—
I don't remember what happened.
Did you— did you used to watch, uh, Bridget Nielsen?
Yes.
And Flavor Flav? Do you remember they show? Um, VH1?
I remember the first one.
I don't remember—
see, the thing is, like, it was so long ago, I don't remember what was going on in there. Like, I don't remember, like, the plot.
Dating anyways.
How much time you got? An hour and a half? An hour?
Good. Yeah, good. An hour.
Okay, you finally made it. Welcome.
God, are we starting?
Oh, we've been started.
Well, we're good. Let's try, man. Let's do this. Let's do this shit.
Let's do this. Can I tell you the first thing? I'm sure you hear this all the time, the Lil Young Lou Will. Do you always get confused with him? That's—
are you doing like every Black man looks alike?
No, no, this is crazy because I remember— okay, this is the story that we got to tell them. I met you in 2024.
True.
At the Broken Play. I think it was a live show.
Yeah.
Randomly, I happened to be at 85 South. Like, one of my friends was like, let's go watch this podcast recording. I was like, oh my God, it wasn't random though.
That was a good little vibe.
No, it was great. But my friend called me randomly. She's like, hey, 'Cause I just got back, I was on a trip, I just got back from the trip and she's like, do you wanna go? So I was like, fuck it, I'm tired, but let's go. And that's when I remember, I didn't even know who any of those people were.
You sat next to me.
I know, I had no idea who you were.
I got a, I think I had posted a picture from that.
A picture?
Yeah.
Yes, you posted a picture with you looking crazy. I was sitting next to you, then Nav brought me on the chair Like they were asking me some dumbass questions about America.
Like, oh yeah, oh yeah.
And then like, I think I lost on the very last question.
What happened?
I don't remember. It was like something that he asked that was like, first there were very basic questions and then he asked me some hard question. I was like, I have no idea what you're talking about.
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. It was like a geogra— geographical. Yeah, it was something like, yeah, they were trying to spell Russia or something.
It was, he was just doing some like random shit.
Yeah.
And then, so I remember I sat next to you and then you posted a picture and I was like, oh my God. Lou Young. So that's when I kind of started like getting to know more comedians, because I was in corporate world. Like, I was not even in any of the social media during that time. Yeah, I just quit my corporate job like 2 weeks ago.
What was, what was you doing?
I was working, uh, at a Fortune 500 company doing tech sales my entire life.
Tech sales. You made— you making good money?
I mean, I was making a decent living. Yeah, it's better than most people in the world. Yeah.
And you just said fuck it?
I said fuck it, I want to do this.
That's what's up though.
But so, okay, I met you there and I remember you posted the picture and then, um, because like we just, we didn't really talk, like we're just kind of like, yeah, because it was like, yeah, and I was, you know, I was on good behave—
I was just trying to be on good behavior. Oh, and it was just a lot of, it was a lot of action in there.
So it was a lot of people too, like I think it was Poor Minds were there too. I think the girls were there too.
There's a lot of women. It was a lot of women, like 10 to 1.
Yeah, it was crazy. It was popping though.
It was really fun. And that's the, that's the type of vibe that— that's the type of example that the young kids, the young YNs, the young players, they need to see. It should be more women than the men. It should not overpower by, you know what I'm saying? There should be leftover women.
Exactly.
Even though, you know, but that's just how it should be. That's the type of vibe That's a good night.
That was a great night. We were throwing dollar bills in the air. I remember that part. Yes, they were, they were like very PG, but yeah, they were there at first.
Yeah, yeah, because it was a little technical difficulty.
Yeah, they were there.
I was helping them bag their dollars up.
Oh really?
Yeah, I'm a— that's— I'm a courteous, uh, man with the strippers. Like, I don't, I don't need them to touch me. I just want them to get their money. I wanna eat my food. Let's just have a conversation. But you still gonna get paid. You ain't gotta touch me. You ain't gotta—
Why? Do you get ticklish?
Nah, it's just they've been there all night. They done kicked up a stench.
Are you one of those guys that's like, "Go take a shower before I have sex with you"?
And you've been in that strip club all— I'll wash that cooter. Wash it. Motherfucker.
But what if it's not like a stripper?
Water hose. And let's say you, let's say you had two, uh, connecting flights. That's a lot of friction.
No, flights is different.
You have to, you see what I'm saying? You got— so you come home and I'm gonna do the same. I gotta watch, I'm gonna clean that thing before I go. Yeah.
Anyways, so I met you there. I remember it was 2024, it was like summertime, it was July I think. Because I just got back from a trip in July. It was July 4th. I remember the fucking trip from hell. Remember it vividly. Hated it.
So it was like a vacation, right?
It was a trip where first time ever a man took me on a trip and it turned into hell.
Like, I already knew. I had a feeling you went on a vacation trip because the way you— well, sometimes y'all women do fall out on your girls trips, but the vacation, that's the type of reaction I'm getting right now.
I've never even met him before because I was like, it would be so fun if we just meet like there.
Oh, so how did y'all meet?
Online? He saw me online. I think he saw me on Raya.
Hold on now.
He saw me on Raya.
What is Raya?
It's the dating app. You're not on Raya? Are you single? You are?
I'm locked in.
Locked in with work or?
With God.
Okay. Anyways, Raya, you can be there for friends. You don't have to be like—
No, no, no, no, no, no. I don't do that. I got, um, well, go ahead, tell me, because I didn't know there was a new app.
I thought it's been around. Tinder?
Tinder's still around.
Are you in— what is it, 2014?
That's the last dating app I can recall that I remember though.
Oh, oh no, no, no, no, there's Hinge, there's Bumble, there's like Plenty of Fish, there is, uh, Coffee Meets Bagel, there is Rye. Rye is for like celebrities and athletes and all of that, so it's like—
and they— and these dudes are of women are exclusive athletes and entertainers, and they're willingly putting their stuff on this thing.
Yeah, but it's like you have to pay for it. It's like it's $25 to $50 a month, and you have to be accepted there. So it's a referral. So you can't just— like, you'll get on there, but like, you know, I've sent it to multiple people.
Are they checking like credit scores?
Oh no, they're checking your— like, you got to be a Googleable person kind of thing. So like, you got to have some sort of something going on for yourself.
Okay.
Like, either your LinkedIn is popping or, you know, There's got like, it's like the league, like a financial threshold of like where—
Yeah, it's called Raya.
Raya, yeah.
And you met this gentleman?
On Raya, yeah, because he's an athlete.
All right.
And so he messaged me. I didn't respond and he messaged me on Instagram, but I was kind of like dealing with somebody, so I didn't respond. And then he was like, hey, like, you know, if you're ever down to go on a trip, like I would love to go on a trip.
Player. I like that. That's a great move. That's a— That's the way to break the ice instead of just, you know.
And we kind of like, because we, we messaged each other before, then I got into a relationship or whatever, whatever the fuck I was doing, but I was kind of like locked in with a man. And then the moment that we broke up, I was like, hey, is this still on?
Damn. See, see, as a— see, that's what— that's why, um D&D.
Sorry.
That's why, as a— as like a— like, I was just talking to some folks about this. Like, women, y'all gotta back up. Y'all gotta— y'all got a motherfucker right in that back pocket. If shit go left, oh, y'all gonna get right.
Oh, I— it was— I was petty. It was on purpose because I knew that that was going to piss off the man that I was with. And so he pissed me off, and I was like, you know what, fuck you. Like, it was a very much like, fuck you, let me go live my life because you think that I ain't got it. Like, mind you, I was so broke at the time. Like, when I tell you I got like $200 to my name, I had no fuck— I had no money whatsoever. So that's why I couldn't leave, because I went there, it was a horrible experience with the man. Like, the moment I met him, like, shit was just off. Then the first night we're going to get dinner and he's telling me about his ex-wife and about his kid and all this shit, and I'm just like, I don't give a fuck. I'm not here to talk about this relationship shit. Like, we're not doing a relationship.
This is supposed to enjoy the weekend, right? And he's like, oh, I'm I'm basically not drinking.
I'm not—
I'm like, ah, nigga, oodle noodle. You posted— listen, one-on-one trip, one-on-one, flies nice woman out, and it's y'all. So y'all ain't even get down and nothing, nothing. He's just talking to you the whole time.
So, so he posted me on Snapchat or some something, and some girl started blowing up his phone. And it just turned left right away. It was so bad. And not only that, he was like, well, you know, I'll never take a white girl serious. And then the moment that somebody calls me a white girl, it just, it just does something to me. I hate it. And so like, we got into a big argument. And then he said, uh, and like, we were out to get dinner or something because at this point, like, I got no money to fly back. Like, I'm broke as fuck.
Like, basically, you like—
I'm like, fuck it. Like, I gotta write it. I gotta like do something. So like, he was doing his own thing, I was doing my own thing. I was just like Going to the beach and sleep in a bed together. Fuck no.
So y'all was in this hotel room.
It was like a huge hotel room. It was so bad. So I basically— there was like the last day we were there for 3 days. The last day we went to like downtown area and he was like, somebody walked up to him and was like, can I talk to your girlfriend? And he basically was like, yeah, go talk to her, pimping me out to like other people. It was so crazy. Yeah. And then he said— he called me, he's like, you're just like my second side bitch. And then he said it in front of some men. And then that guy like went off on him. I'm telling you, it was a shit show. And afterwards he didn't even say bye at the airport, and I was just like, oh my God.
What, what, if you don't mind me asking, what sport did he play?
Basketball.
I knew it, I knew it. Big giveaway, big giveaway.
He reached out like a couple months ago and he was like, I would love to go on another trip with you, you're so amazing, you're so fun, I see you blowing up, I see you doing your thing. I was like, get the fuck out of my face, don't ever speak to me again, please.
I was like, block me.
Yeah, it was like, it was— I don't know what the fuck is wrong with this person, but he's mentally unstable.
Yeah, I ain't gonna lie, I fly, I fly something out, I'm getting my money's worth.
That's not a thing.
I'm getting down and dirty, as you should. Fuck all that.
On the balcony, everywhere. Like, you go, you are crazy.
I've got— listen, room service, and I'm servicing You hear me? Oodle noodle.
No, it was like, so that trip was horrible. So anyways, I came back from that trip and then like my friend was like, let's go. And that's when we went to—
So you just needed to kind of—
I just needed to just go and—
Debrief and—
Yeah, just—
I'm glad. So, and that was, I hope that helped you kind of—
That was great. That was amazing. I was like, oh my God, I didn't even know that Atlanta had all these comedians and stuff. Cause like my job wasn't even in the space. And then Next year, I remember somebody said, I'm going to film with Lou Will. In my mind, I thought he was talking about you. So I was like, wait, I met him. He's like, oh, really dope? I was like, yeah, like he's tall, like, right, like the black tall guy? Like, yeah. He's like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
How tall is Lou Will?
He's almost your height.
He's like 6'2".
Yeah.
How tall are you?
I'm like 6'2.5".
I'm a little taller. I'm 6 foot.
Oh, okay. Well, it's the same shit. You guys in the same—
yeah, but like, yeah.
So I thought it was— and then when I was like saying to some people, Lil Young is coming on, they're like, oh, like the basketball player? Yeah, that's dope.
Lil Will, Lil Young, come on now. That's my dog though, shout out Lil Will. But Yeah, come on. But when I played ball though, like I was in the league, dude, like they— I was like the— remember the, uh, 6-man, like Lou Will?
Yeah, that's why you guys connect.
I'm just— well, obviously we're lose, so, right, you know, it's a— that song, I used to like the part when they say Lou, it was just like, yeah. But I wasn't living that type of life. Two girls at the same time? Never did that at the same time.
Mm-hmm.
Dating at the same time? Exclusively?
No, but not exclusively for sure.
Not exclusive for sure. Yeah, so no exclusivity on the deal. Non-exclusivity.
That's probably more than two.
Oh no, no, no. Now see, that's when Um, that's when the energies can, can start to jump in and intertwine and kind of throw my, throw my psyche, I throw my equilibrium off.
Wait, wait, you sound like a girl now. They usually— girls say that like, oh, we don't want to mess with energies. And it's like, what you mean?
That's a, that's a real thing.
Okay, I'm glad.
As a man, yeah, like, I'm starting to realize like there's There is voodoo in the tutu for sure.
You believe in sex magic?
Oh yeah, especially you on Ross TV.
Manifest during sex?
Like, am I thinking about goals? I've, I've, I have had, I have had manifested things while, especially, you know, when I'm receiving fellatio. Oh yeah, I just learned what that word means. I don't definitely Thought of some good-ass ideas.
Really?
Oh man, some of my best skits out the head.
Really?
Ah, fellatio.
Though you can say head. Yeah, I learned that on G's podcast, Intrusive Thoughts, that word, because I was like, I had no idea what that meant. Yeah, I had no clue. I was like, what the fuck does that mean?
Yeah, so you know what I'm saying? It's a real thing though. And I got sisters that be putting me on game, like they older than me, so I'm like little bro, but they really— they be putting me on game. They're like, boy, you can't, can't be out here messing all the different juices, you know.
At what age did you come to that conclusion?
I guess, I guess I had to have my daughter. So I'm 34 now, so that was 20— I was 24.
Oh, okay, so you were young.
That's when I started really— I was like, oh, this is what Okay, I get it.
Because, you know, a lot of men don't even come to that conclusion in their 40s, and they still think it's okay to just pump it out.
I mean, it's—
what?
Give and take. I don't know, it's give-give, I should say.
Because if a woman's giving it out, it doesn't mean that you have to take it. If the woman is just giving it out, that's like, you don't know how many more other things are inside of her.
Exactly. And so when it's too easy, I don't want it, right? I like to— I like— I'm a, I'm a hunter. Oh, like, I, I, I, I like to, you know, I like— it's like with the— I guess with the coochie of a woman, I, I wanted to be like, all right, I broke level 1, let's go level 2, level 3, level— you know what I mean? Like, I don't want to just hit the home run Right away? Yeah, I know those don't last long.
See, ladies, stop giving it out.
This shit don't work for me. I don't— yeah, any one-night stand I ever—
I haven't had many, but do you exchange numbers at the one-night stand, or do you just like—
I couldn't even tell you her name exactly.
So do you have the number or no?
Nope. I don't even have the jurisdiction. I don't have the government name. You don't need to, let alone the number.
Fuck that. Yeah, you don't need that.
Wash your hands with that.
Yeah, like, I don't even remember. I don't even remember the silhouette of you. Like, you just—
but you do have to go to the doctor.
Well, you definitely make sure you use protection.
I'm saying no, 100%. But just all in all, you never know what's— what— you never know.
Yeah, because like some people do it too much. It's like, nah, this one time you gotta do it where you don't know the number, you don't know the name. Somewhere in Vegas and forget it.
See, now that's tricky.
Why?
Doing a one-night stand in Vegas, it's a little tricky now.
Why? How's that tricky? It's something you do in Vegas, no?
Because I just, I just came back from Vegas and they— and we were about to walk this like the Strip and I was like, man, I'm taking my ass home because what's outside on the Strip in Vegas?
Well, I would say more go to the casinos or hotels, something.
That's, that's the same shit. Same shit. The hotel, you see them, beautiful, beautiful. Uh, they have, you know, all the things in the, uh, in the hotel. It's the ambiance is great, you know, amenities. But oh yeah, there's some women in there that's looking to get— oh yeah, something. And they got something to give.
That's why they're in Vegas.
Exactly. They ain't trying to get what they giving.
They go and they go out with promoters and stuff. They want to be put at the tables because they want to be—
they want to run their ass out. And I mean, that's basically like, come get it.
Yeah, that's Vegas. It's just modern day, you know, pimping, hoeing. Yeah, kind of. I mean, it's fun.
It's pimping and it's hoeing, but it's fun pimping and hoeing.
But that's again, like, I feel like you gotta, you gotta pick and choose what you're trying to do. I've seen a lot of, like, a lot of athletes out in Vegas, but they bring their own girls. They don't pick them out there.
Sometimes they would like You ever been part of the—
uh, they tried, but I'm like, I remember one time somebody was like, one of the athletes was like, you need to give us your phone so, you know, nobody's filming. I said, listen, I ain't giving you nothing. I don't give a fuck about this.
I ain't mad at that though, because you gotta watch women. Women be sneaking.
Oh yeah, no, I was like, listen, I don't give a fuck about this.
Sneak.
They do sneak. And that's why I, I understand where he was coming from, but But I also said, like, listen, at the time I was like, I had a business and I was like, I had little employees that I was working with. So I was like, I can't give you my phone because like something comes in, I don't respond, I'm losing money on this. So like, I can't, I can't do that. So he's like, oh, I respect that. So I was like, I promise you I'm not taking no pictures. And if you don't want me here, I'm not going to be here. So he's like, yeah, you cool, come on.
Yeah, yeah, actually going to deny you, huh? It wasn't going to deny you.
I actually saw him when last I went to the game. We kind of— he was on the bench and we locked eyes. I was like, I remember that time. For that time, yeah, because like it's hard to miss me, you know. You'll fucking see me from a space.
So it's like you, you was like walking in and then he's like, oh shit.
Yeah, he was like, he's like, what's up?
I'm like, nigga be the nigga be locked in on the game. He looking at ass.
I ain't got no ass. But no, I don't know what the fuck he was looking at, but like yeah, we acknowledged each other. I was like, this is interesting, this is really different. This is very different now. But you know, back then, I honestly, it was so useless to go out and like meet all these athletes because like, what the fuck was I gonna do with them? Now at least I can bring them on the show. But back then it's like, what, what for?
You, you bring pretty much the ones you talk to on the show? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
But I'm just saying, like, if they want to talk—
oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
Now I can bring them on the show, right?
You should be like, oh, I see what you're saying. Yeah, that's how you deflect it. Like, mother was like, man, what's up, let's go out. It's like, hey, you want to come on my show?
Yeah.
Oh, I like that. So you kind of, you dangle the, you dangle the treat.
I have to.
Come on the show. Ah, thanks for the content. I may or may not want to do anything after this. I like that. That's good.
Yeah, it's like, oh my God, I'm so tired. Um, yeah, let me call you back.
Like, let's, let me be tomorrow, period. All that crazy shit. No, I ain't going. No, I'm just saying, yeah, like No, no, no, I'm not even—
I'm like, oh, you know what, after— I always let them know, you know, after the show I need to unwind, decompress, decompress. Don't you know that?
I had a woman use that. It's like, I just got home, I had to decompress. I said, okay, never respond again.
But if it's like somebody that I'm fucking with, I don't give a fuck, I'mma go right to your house after my show.
Exactly.
If I care for you, you know, I'll decompress with you.
Exactly.
But it's just, I mean, like, cuz, you know Being in this industry as a woman, they're going to use and abuse you all they want, so I ain't trying to do that.
No, yeah, and like you said, you gotta kind of have— you gotta have your head on swivel as a woman, as a man too, but as a woman, yeah, you damn sure right. It's— yeah, I'm a girl dad, so I gotta—
your daughter is 10 now?
She'll be 10 in October.
Oh wow.
October 16th.
How does that make you, how did that change you?
I'm having a dose. It made me a lot more sensitive. Mm-hmm. Like caring. I wasn't really like affectionate, physical affection.
Mm-hmm.
So like, I'm, you know, 'cause I was brought up, my dad was like real tough on us. Mm-hmm. So like, she made me kind of like a softer, you know what I'm saying? Just in— and that's just the time I'm spending with her. Like, I can't talk to her like, you know, like my dad would talk to his sons. It's softer. Like, she's— yeah, I mean, like, she— I gotta kind of like— I just— it's like, I don't want to mess up this beautiful project that God gave me. I just want to make sure I just add more, you know, more good, more good energy, good teachings, good morals, and just keep building her up the way she— you know what I'm saying— the way it was given to me.
So does that make you look at women different because of your daughter?
Uh, now some of the shit that I see that be happening with women makes me be like, I gots to keep my you know, mine and like, I gotta keep my eyes out for these motherfuckers. You know what I'm saying? Just things that I've seen. I would say, yeah, like sometimes it'd be like, or I would say in these past like 10 years, there's been times where I'll be like, damn, I wouldn't want nobody to deal with my daughter like that. Like, let me not ghost her. And let me just be a man and tell her, hey, I'm good. I don't know, bad blood. I just want to focus here. I'm not really into this. Instead of just being kind of like a coward with it and ghosting. That's how I normally used to get down. I James St. Patrick your ass, ghost. But with my daughter, I'm like, damn, I want to do her like that? No. All right, you know what I'm saying? Like, let me just I'm trying to build up some good karma for her, right? And at the same time, same token, it helps me mature too.
That's good, because, you know, a lot of men, I feel like they— because sometimes, like, I would question, like, man, like, if that happened to your daughter, how would you feel?
Now, I don't like when women try to do that shit though.
No, not when they try to—
like, when they try to use it against you in an argument or something, like, would you— would somebody do that to Lala? Shut up.
No, no, that's doing too much. I'm just saying in general sense, like when you sit back and reflect, which I hope you do sometimes, you're just like, shit, if that happened to my daughter, I would fucking hate it.
I would go crazy.
Exactly. And then like as a dad too, you're probably so protective because like you're probably like, oh, this guy's not getting near her. This guy, like this, no, she's not going with him.
Even with family functions and shit, I'm like a hawk. I'm watching everything, everybody, men and women. Ain't nobody coercing my daughter's mind or finessing shit. I will whoop your ass. Don't fuck with mine. Like, I'm deadass.
That's amazing. We need more dads like that.
Yeah, I'm on it. All that— nah, we ain't gonna have no weird-ass family reunions over here.
Does it usually get weird?
No, I'm just saying, just, just, just in case. I don't know, I'm just You know what I'm saying? Ain't gonna be no— no, just in case somebody tried, none of that. Your ass will be dead. That's not a threat, that's a promise.
Damn. All right, well, let's do the intro and then let's get into some questions because I got some questions for you. I hope you were an open book and you will let me ask you questions.
All right.
Yeah. Okay. Hey guys, welcome back to Talk Less Show, where conversations go a little deeper than the surface. And today We have a guest. He's a man who refuses to be put in a box. He graduated from Georgia Tech with business degree. That's amazing. You did, right?
Yes, I did. Wow. Graduated early too.
He graduated early from Georgia Tech with a business degree. He spent 5 years in NFL bouncing between 6 teams, making it to Super Bowl 50. Then the league let him go, and instead of disappearing, he went home, opened up his laptop, and started making videos in his living room. Those videos turned into a million followers, then a Netflix film with Jamie Foxx, then a podcast with NAACP Image Award nomination. He's proof that your setback is just God setting up the redirect, and he also happens to be one of the funniest people walking the planet Earth. Welcome to Talk Lush Show, Lou Young.
That's a hell of an intro.
You like it?
I'm gonna have to—
I'll give it to you.
Yeah, I need to add that to my bio.
Yeah, you should.
Damn, that was good.
Why whenever I give the intro to people, they never feel like, oh yeah, like that's me. Like, yeah, I did all of that.
Nah, it's just like, you know, I think because mentally my mindset is like, all right, like once football ended, it's like, all right, on the next play. Like I can't sit around and be like, you know, I used to play ball. You know, I used to play ball. All that, I've seen that, how that goes for people. A lot of my boys, like coming, especially the older guys. And I never wanted to be like somebody that'd be talking about the good old days of what I used to be. It's like, I can't do football forever. I already knew that even when I started playing ball, but I knew I wanted to, I always kind of had like ideas and plans for my future. So I was like, okay, I know if I can get on NFL or whatever, some way or any professional sport, it kind of opened up a door maybe to get— I wanted to be on TV as a kid, right? So I would see like how The Rock played football and then got on, and now he's like this— I mean, he's a Golden Globe nominee.
He's like one of the biggest, highest paid actors, or like just top of the top. Yeah, literally.
And like, so like, that was like, okay, I can go from the sports to like mega star. Even like, like Shaquille O'Neal, like, I just like how he's like This motherfucker will brand a Kit Kat bar.
Do you know him?
Not personally.
Oh, fuck. I could have asked you to introduce me to him. I've introduced— I've asked everybody. Yeah, but he's amazing. Or like Cam Newton, same thing.
Yeah, yeah. Well, like, Cam not really acting, but the transition.
But media though.
Media, no, facts. Yeah, but I mean like being on that screen. Yeah, and I'm saying like, though, like seeing like that, and I was just like That's what I want to do. I gotta be on TV. Like, I always wanted, like, Saturday Night Live, Living Color, bad TV. I'll be supposed to be practicing, but I would like watching comedy movies and stuff like that. So that's kind of like, now it's just like shit I was doing in the locker room, but I'm just doing it online.
So wait, hold up. You were— when you were supposed to be practicing, you were watching all this stuff? That's how you end up on practice squads?
No, no, no, no, no, no.
Okay, okay, okay, okay.
That was a good one.
I tried, I tried.
No, practice squad is not— that's— even if to make practice squad is tough.
You know, as women, we always disrespect practice squad.
I'm gonna be very real with you because shit, not when that bill come out.
Really?
Listen, I was a guy that did not I didn't shy away from being on practice. Like my rookie year, I was on 4 different teams.
Damn.
Yeah. And practice squad, all of them. After my first year, that's when I started getting active roster. But that first year, a lot of practice squads. What?
They still pay though, right?
Yeah. Obviously I'm not making what Cam Newton make, but yeah. You know what I'm saying? But we go out, It's like, they're like, Luke, come on. I'm like, what? Y'all bet? And I'm telling straight to your face, hey, look here, I'm P Squad, baby.
You got steakhouse money.
Yeah, you can get in how you fit in, but it's up to you. But you know, it's gonna be— you have a good time. And I just knew how to— I didn't have to use my football status to get women. I know I got real deal Like wordplay, just a vibe.
I mean, yeah, because like you wouldn't be where you are now if you didn't.
Exactly.
Especially with wordplay.
I know how to work the room. Yeah, I can get in a room and I can, you know what I'm saying, just kind of the energy that I provide, it always overshadows whatever, you know. And you gotta be funny.
Yeah, you're funny, then that's like a whole new level. Oh yeah, you can be whatever the fuck squad.
Exactly. And you play sports.
Yeah.
I can, man, before you know if I'm on the roster or P Squad, you know, I already, the Uber on the way.
I just remember my friend, like, because I didn't know much about this whole, like, life of athletes and actors and entertainers and all of that until I started going out, which was probably around like 2019, like going into 2020. That's when we got shut down, pandemic. And then 2021, that's when, like, we had nothing to do but just go out, like, because that was the only thing left. And I met my friend, my best friend. She's still my best friend to this day. But they kind of started slowly introducing me to this whole, like, world of athletes. Or like, hey, if you meet somebody, Google his net worth, you know, do this and that. And I, like, it was a whole new thing because, like, I used to do research on businesses, but I never done research on people before. And so now I'm like, oh, okay. And then I remember she'd be like, oh yeah, yeah, no, he's practice squad, we're not talking to that, we're not doing this.
Don't block your blessings, you never know. Like, listen, man, y'all, y'all don't, don't hate on the practice squad. And then now the money they're making now, you know, it goes up every year.
Oh yeah.
So like, the money making now is damn near close to what an active roster person would have made probably when I played. So it goes up every year. Look, it's— life's a gamble, you know what I mean? Don't, don't crap out trying to go for the The QB1.
And they're also getting less concussions because they're not playing as much.
Look at me. I'm, listen, I know I would've loved to have a— Concussion. Hall of Fame football career and all the things. I'm a Hall of Famer in life. I got my sanity. I got me and my daughter, we got good insurance 'cause of the league. I get my pension whenever that comes up. I done transitioned. And the relationships that I built while on my NFL football journey is paying me more than it did when I played, right? You see what I'm saying? Like, and I know, I know what the hell going on. I, I've heard a lot of, you know, sad stories about people, just guys, just, you know, yeah, they had a 10, 12-year career, but they ain't got, they ain't got their mind to even show for it.
No.
And then, and then them hoes, they leave you when you can't think straight.
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah, that's, that's definitely a big thing. I, I've said that story before. I had a, I had a friend who used to play, um, in the NBA. He like got multiple rings with the league. And, um, at 40 years— I think it was like 2 years ago or last year, he just turned 40. And I remember he was like talking to me, he's like, damn, you're full of life, you just want to live. Like, and he's like, I'm depressed, I don't know what the fuck I'm doing.
And they had great careers, but they don't know. But it's like That's why I like what's going on now with the NILs and the deals, the endorsement deals with the young guys. And they can use they likeness on the social media, show they personality now.
Yeah.
Because I guess then it was like, all right, it's football. Everything's locked in. Don't be playing on the social media. We gotta lock it. Now, shit, they using the social media to announce schedules to announce who gonna be at the Super Bowl and all the things. Content is key now. Yeah. They were out there money.
Mm-hmm.
They getting deals with Netflix to be on the foot, like Netflix playing a football game. You know what I'm saying? Before you know it, Netflix gonna be hosting the Super Bowl. Probably. Probably.
But they did those, the quarterbacks and all of those, they did the shows.
Exactly.
Which are amazing.
So what I'm saying is, All this shit is like, now I feel like the NFL, I mean the league, NBA, all these, WNBA, all of them. I think that they're realizing like, we don't want these people to be like boxed in to just this. We gotta expand they whole personality. They can have a podcast while playing the game. The hell with it. It's still, listen, people gonna tune in. People gonna buy tickets to your game. Everybody making money. Exactly. So all that strict shit, nah. And, and I, and I just like the fact that dudes can do it earlier now, like in college. If I was doing this shit in college, geez Louise, my life would have been so different if I was able—
because I was still in college when there was no NIL too. And I remember I didn't go to play D1 because I didn't have the money, because they were like, we only have one scholarship for the entire team. So I was like, well I'm going to school, but I'm not going to play because like I got to pay for school and play and study and somehow support myself. I was like, this is bullshit.
Like, I feel like the women's sport, they didn't really have them type of funds, did they?
No, no. We had one scholarship for 8 people on the team.
Yeah.
And the school I went to, a private school in Santa Clara, was like $54,000 a year at the time. $54,000. So it's like to go for 4 years, that's $200,000. And I gotta, I gotta pay that and play, and I'm like, what the fuck am I getting? Like 2 t-shirts from Nike? That's all I'm getting?
Like goodie bag?
Literally, yeah, literally. And then those t-shirts are gonna get smelly and I'm gonna throw them away anyways.
Nothing.
Literally, like it wasn't even— you get a contract with Nike, was none of that. It was just like—
I don't know what I'm saying. These people got— these dudes getting like Celsius deals and shit. Like this shit is hard. That's hard. Millions of dollars and they still But I'm grateful that I've went through what I went through, that I'm able to appreciate what I'm getting now. 'Cause had I got it then, oh man, I'd have had at least 5 kids. I'd have been, I would be, I probably wouldn't be talking to you right now. I'd probably be doing fucking seminars from the jail cell. Like I would not be the man I am, you know what I'm saying? 'Cause I just wasn't mature enough for that type of shit. I wasn't even mature for just to be a top athlete on my team. Think if I had a little extra cheese in my pocket, oh my God, man, I'd have been on the ESPN ticker. And I was on the ESPN ticker as a broke athlete.
Really?
Imagine if I had some money. I'd have been, I'd have been talking too much shit. So everything happens for a reason.
Exactly. You are where you're supposed to be.
Yeah.
Now I do have one thing that I read about you that you were talking about your bipolar diagnosis. Oh yeah, I've done research. I like to do research. Okay. But, and we know that that's not really a common thing to talk about, especially as a Black man. Yes, because you put yourself as a very vulnerable person.
Black man or woman? Black, just in general. Yeah, facts.
Yeah, I think it's very like, because it's something that's so looked down upon and it's something that's so negative, because like when you say, like whenever you try to you know, offend somebody, you say you bipolar because it's hot and cold, right? So how did that, you know, can you talk to me about that whole thing? How did you even know that that was a diagnosis?
So like, I guess like, because it was like, I think it was like right before I was like going to the league, you know, you, when you training, you get all these tests, you're meeting with counselors and all this shit. They trying to prepare you, so they do all these character studies on you and stuff like that. They're trying to prepare you for your interviews with the teams and stuff like that. And then that's when they realized that I major ADHD. I couldn't pay attention for like after like 15, 20 minutes. And they was like, I should have been on Adderall. And so it was just, I was finding out that, and then that I was like a low tier bipolar.
Okay.
And it was like, it was like made, and my dad was just like, dang, that kind of makes sense with your, you know, your mood swings now. Mental health, not my whole family, but you know, it kind of runs in my family. Different tiers though.
Okay.
You know what I'm saying? I've seen extreme, extreme, and the episodes that can happen from, you know what I mean? Some people got depression, bipolar, anxiety, they can't sleep, all type of stuff.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying? So I think once I like really like understood it, I just kind of like played it. I won't say played into it, but like I just used it not as like a character defect, was just like, okay, this is like, I, let me figure out what's to do with this. Like, yeah, how do I make sure that I don't become like a hazard to people or something like that? Like, yeah, if I know my triggers and this, that, and the third, and just being honest with myself. I think folks be in denial then it's like you're just living like a double lie, right? You lying to yourself and you lying about what the fuck you dealing with, lying to everybody else. No, I'm good. Like, shit, there's times where I'll be having moves, I'm like, man, everybody get the fuck away from me for a second. Yeah. Well, I'mma— or really, I only had to say that. For me, I walk away to kind of give my— give myself a little space, a little quick space. Like, I know I get real like claustrophobic a little bit when it's just a lot. My social media be kind of down, or it's just like I've been talking all day, I've been shaking hands and put, you know, here's Louie. Like, I'm, I'm doing this, I'm in this room, so many people, so many energies. Sometimes I got just a quick little, you know, decompress, cool, check in with myself, talk to God for a little bit. I could go outside and talk to him about 2 minutes, calm down, uh, I'm good. Just a little breathe. Relax. Like, my boys, like, my brother, like, they, they know, like, oh shit, uh, he'll be right back.
Yeah. Did you learn that from like a therapist, or you just kind of figured that out on your own, that like, this is what works for me?
Well, I guess like the therapist or whoever, like, when you talk to them, they're going through all that. That was like when I was about to like go into the league. So do I have a therapist now? No. Now They recommended I do get one. I think my therapist has become like the gym.
Yeah.
Like being in the sauna, steam room, like having self-care days, you know what I'm saying? Massages and shit like that.
Yeah.
You know, stuff to relax my mind and my energy because I am like on the go a lot.
See, this is, okay. So I've been diagnosed with like depression and anxiety too, so I've never been diagnosed with bipolar. But yeah, so like last year I had to go on a leave from a corporate job because it was just— it just got so much. But like mine goes towards panic attacks, so like, because I'm always on the go. Like, I'm the same. I have ADHD that's been diagnosed years ago, um, but I feel like that's why, because when people ask me, they're like, how can you do so many things at once? Or like, how can you pump out so much content? Like, you're always on the go. And I'm like, just because I feel like that's something that's in my brain. Like, if I don't— if I slow down, I'm like, shit.
That's what I'm saying. Like, I— if I'm not doing something, like, I can't just, uh, wake up and just be in the house not doing shit.
Exactly.
Like, sleeping in, I really can't, man. I don't really know how to sleep in. I used to hate on people that knew how to take naps. I don't know how to take a fucking nap to save my life.
Really?
Now, on a plane ride, if I'm out, I'm out. Like, I don't even call that a nap. I just call that just a it's just a plane ride or whatever. But like just to be able to just, hey, I'll be right back. I'm gonna take a nap, go to my room. I can't do that shit. You know what I'm saying? So it's like, if I'm like stagnant, not to say it's like a panic, but it's like, that's why I do active things to kind of relax myself. Like going to the gym, sauna, steam room. Actively moving. I'm still relaxed, but I'm actively getting some rest. Like, I can't do the lazy rest. I don't know what's the word or whatever the term for it, but I can't just sleep and being laid in the bed all goddamn day.
No, I can't do that either.
You know what I mean?
And they've done studies and they actually proved that you doing a lot of work with your body is what's very healing to your mental.
Right.
Because like the more you move your body, like the more energy you produce. So it's actually, it's really good for your mental health.
And the gym. The gym, yeah. The gym is like, that's like my Anne. I love that girl.
Oh yeah, like I'm addicted.
That is mine.
This is a forever relationship. I cannot imagine, like if I don't work out 4 times a week, or if I don't go on a walk, like on the days when I can't go to the gym, I'm like, shit, something like, I will get up. I don't care what time it is, I'm going to go. Like I have to. That's why I got a dog, so I can go walk him. I have to.
That's why you got a dog? Yeah, I have a Husky.
Oh shit, I got a big dog. Yeah, he's a Husky. Yeah, I got him when I just like, when I was dealing with this whole mental health, um, 2020. That's when it started really bad. That's when he was born. He's about to be 6, so he was born 2020 and I got him. And so that's when I knew I have to be, you know, walking him, you know, I have to do a lot of like training with him and all of that. So like for me it's like, okay, like I got— I get to take care of somebody. And so like kind of like remove that focus on, oh, okay, I'm depressed or I'm anxious or I'm ADHD or that. So like you kind of learn how to live with it. And I refuse to take medication. I'm not doing it.
See, and I tried the medicine. Don't like it. Don't like it. Don't like the way I feel. Slows me down and shit. I got to be like, if, if I take that medicine, I'll be like a fucking zombie. Like, I can't do that shit. I just can't. It's So it's like there's ways to, I guess, medicate yourself without actual medicine. And I think that's just, you know what I'm saying? That's just like being true to what's going on. Like being honest and just kind of like, kind of doing homework and research on it. Just so, you know what I'm saying? Like, and I just feel like people with little issues, They be the most like geniuses. Like they got, their creativity is like, so I just think it's just part of my God-given gift. I'm supposed to be a little off. If I wasn't off, I wouldn't be able to do what I do.
Exactly.
Know what I'm saying?
I'm the same way. I feel like, 'cause sometimes I can say some shit and I'm like, to me it's normal. To you it might be obnoxious, but to me it's just normal.
Man, what? Like I be saying some off the wall shit that don't make, I know it don't make sense. But look, motherfucker, it makes sense to me. You gotta catch up to this mustard. Like, I'm telling you, I'm putting relish and onions on this shit. Right. Y'all niggas bullshitting. Like, that's just how I feel. But I don't feel like, like I don't feel weird or like the odd man out. I know my deficiencies. I'm all right with them though.
I feel odd. You know, I always say there's nothing average about me. So like, I don't give a fuck. It is what it is.
Like you say, 'You know what? I'm not average.' Right? We're not average. There's nothing average. If we was, we wouldn't be here.
Exactly. Exactly. Because it's like, I think you have to be crazy enough. You have to be like bold enough to just be able to live your life in front of so many people. But also those people, they're the ones that take me through my day sometimes. You know, like sometimes if I go look through my DMs, I'm like, damn, I'm so loved. I'm so appreciated. Like—
What's that word? Affirmation?
Yeah.
Yeah, I fuss with the words of affirmation. I think that's part of my love language.
Really? So you like when people like tell you like, oh, I appreciate you?
Not like to really kiss my ass, but more so like genuine, genuine. And it's like that it helped them.
Yeah, yeah.
I like knowing that I'm helping somebody.
Oh yeah, that's, that's so special, you know what I mean?
So those words, they'd be like, man, I was going through some something, and man, this video, I was able— man, I love going to this video when I'm dealing with— I'm like damn, that feel good because that means I'm using my gift the right way.
Yeah, to help them through their day, you know what I'm saying?
I ain't being selfish, but I ain't manipulating folks with my gift. No, you know, manipulate people with their gift. They can be so good at their gift. They'll tell my— hey man, I want to make you— I want to put you in a lot of skits with me, Shawty, blah blah blah. You get over there, he got a big-ass hookah thing and, and Netflix. Ain't no camera, no skit, none of that. He trying to fuck, right? Nah, you fucking with me, we gonna work.
Yeah, no, I'm the same way. Like, I'm such a— some— it was surreal to get into this industry because sometimes I'm like, well, you know, I don't have that many followers, or like, I'm not—
don't matter.
Yeah, but, but like, still, like, in my mind I'm like, oh, what's my value? And then when I realized that I can bring so much value from what I've learned in corporate world on the business side to the creative aspect of everything, like, now Man, we off the charts now. Like, shit, this is, this is so— and then you, you go talk to people and you're like, oh, I can connect you with this one. I can— so it's like, it's a whole like ecosystem that you're in, which is so cool. I've never even thought that that was— but when I was in corporate, that was the most depressing shit in the world. It was like the saddest thing you could possibly do, especially for somebody like me. Yeah, cuz I'm like, I like to control things, I like to like think of things, I like to brainstorm, and they don't let you do that.
They want you to be like a box.
Yeah, like if you did a skit You probably would have been fired.
Oh yeah, doing corporate? Yeah.
What? Have you ever had a corporate job apart from NFL?
I don't think I've ever had a job. I used to work the basketball, football camps when I was like middle school, high school. That was like my side money. I've never worked like—
yeah. So when you started doing comedy and all the social media stuff, you were just using your money from NFL? To fund everything?
The last little bit I had.
Really?
Used it up.
And you didn't feel like, oh, I'm just wasting my money?
Because I, because I was actively doing the shit too, you know what I'm saying? I was, I was really actively not just buying stuff just to say I bought it. I was like, oh, we're gonna use this motherfucker, man. Like, I, I know what I was doing, but we gonna figure it out. The green screen and everything, the Even to the— they call it the clapper, the, um, the slate. I bought a fucking slate. I bought the whole package. But it was like, mentally, I was like, oh no, I'm, I'm gonna Spike Lee this motherfucker, man.
And then you made it. I mean, you were invited to so many things that like, it's like, how? With Steve Harvey and like all them people, like, that's crazy.
Never. And I'm telling you right now, me playing ball, obviously the relationships, right? But, and I'm grateful that the impressions I left at different teams in the locker room, like those guys, the execs or the coaches, the players, my teammates, they wives, they cousins and stuff that I've been around, that was the ones that was reposting stuff or, you know.
Oh, wow.
Yeah, and they got, they had a big ass following just for them to being a high profile athlete or what have you. And that was dope that they— I ain't asked them, I mean, yo, shout out for shout out and all that shit. Nah, they, they did that organically. So I was like, oh, okay, this is— because I ain't asking nobody to, to repost my shit. And you know how people live with their social media. Oh yeah, it'd be the motherfucker with 200 followers act like they so uppity. Don't nobody even watch your shit. So it's like, whether you post it or not, it's gonna be all right. Yeah, like it's organically them just like doing that, you know what I'm saying? They— I wasn't paying them to do that.
No. How do you know that, um, whatever you post is going to go viral?
I don't know.
So when you come up with an idea, what is the premises? Is that something that like, oh, I want to recreate this? My favorite one was— I'm gonna tell you straight up— that Lady London and Kim Newton interview. That shit was hilarious. That was just eclectic. Eclectic.
Yeah. Um, like, I was just talking to my boy, uh, Jack Funny, right? We was like in Vegas together like yesterday, and we were talking. It was just like, people don't know what goes into a skit, especially as we grow. Like, I'm not just gonna do in my living room all, you know what I'm saying? I want to up the ante. I want to had a good production. Like, when I see like Jack doing— like, he got kind of like a movie set down there, looks like. When Drewski got the extra props and shit, like, it's crazy. I'm like, I get inspired. Like, when I see folks upping their game with wins or blessings, I don't hate, I get inspired. So it's like, it wakes me up. I'm like, damn, shit, I need to up my shit too, you know what I'm saying? So Um, now it's like, yeah, I don't know if it's gonna go viral, but like, if I'm being that serious about it and painting a picture and giving y'all and like almost making you feel like you there, my performance is gonna do what it's gonna do. Now I'm giving you the whole body of work and the, the look of it looks like what I'm talking about, and I'm killing you with the content and, and whatever little bits that I'm coming up with. Like, it's a— sometimes it could, you know, it takes time to build that room up for like the funds to, to pay for that type of stuff.
So how do you get the funds? Because like, obviously, you know, if you don't get sponsors or like, you know, product placements or something, then how do you— you just pay for it? Or like, how do you know that that's going to make money?
You don't. So that's what I'm saying. Even when I, even when I saved my money, I'm not saved, the money that I had saved and I was putting in from the league into the content, didn't know if it was going to make anything. I'd say for the first, it was 2019, the first like 3 years from 2019 to 2020, that's kind of when I really got into it. So like I didn't make no profit until like, well, I was like, damn, I broke even and I got some, a little something on the end. Like 2022, 2020, yeah, 2022, 2023. Okay. 2023, that's when I was like, oh shit, I'm actually starting to, and I can use some of these funds to get some better props or make this like, you know what I'm saying? And so, or add a little something to the camera. Oh, we get the audio and we get the lens and, you know, new MacBook, this, that. You got to reinvest.
And we— you have a team then?
I ain't gonna lie, then I was— I still edit all my skits.
Really? Yourself?
Yeah.
Wow. Okay.
Um, yeah, everything I was editing, even when I made like little like short, uh, sketches or not short sketches, like, yeah, yeah, with like 5-10 minute sketches. Yeah, I'll put on YouTube. I'm editing all those, then I would chop them down and make like the 1 or 2 minute, you know, thing for the Instagram and TikTok and all that stuff. That's me now. Uh, it's still me because I, I like the process of it.
Now you drop them on YouTube too, like, because that Eclectic one was like 13 minutes long or something.
It was like a Yeah. And then I broke it down like 2 minutes for the, for the, you know, for the quick hitters, you know. So I know people don't like to watch 13s. I can't.
I think I found out about this whole eclectic thing from your skit because I saw a skit first and then I saw the interview and I was like, this is hilarious. And it was right before Cam did my interview. So I actually brought that up in my interview with Cam. Yeah, it was like literally like it was like a week before Cam agreed to come on. Yeah. And so we filmed with him like 2 weeks after that. And I was like, this is just like—
I like— even like, obviously I'm gonna— even to the clothes, like all that little fit, like that costs a little money. Like even though it's BS what I'm putting on, should I— you go to Greenbrier Mall, you get a bunch of that bullshit, that fake shit, it'll pop up, be with $200, $300 before you know it, right? You know what I'm saying? Not every skit might make you $300 back, right?
Right.
You know, that's just a low end. I just did a prom skit.
I saw it.
All that, the fireworks, the, the smoke blower, the, the extra props, the balloons, this, that, the clothes, the food. Gotta feed people, right? Can't have people just worrying they starving. About $1,800 skit.
Wow.
Okay, with all the stuff, like, yeah, so making the YouTube and the Facebook, blah, blah, blah, the TikTok. Because Instagram, you don't make no money on Instagram.
I don't know at what point people can understand that you don't— actually, you can make like $30 if you post carousels and they go viral.
That's bullshit.
But I made on the video, on the picture with Carlos Miller, actually two pictures with Carlos Miller where he's standing on the couch, I made $45.
Okay, that's beautiful.
That's the most money I made on Instagram.
Instagram is basically— I, I say Instagram is your, uh, your billboard. Yeah, that's your commercial. It's free too, right? Promote yourself. And I just send them straight to the— yeah, to the YouTube, to the Facebook, TikTok, all Twitter.
I—
it's all promo. Yeah, I don't care if the skit gets, uh, 100,000 views or 100,000 likes. I don't give a damn. Because in the end, the long run, I want that view duration to be up on the YouTube. Yeah, the longer they watching them, the longer they gonna— the more they gonna pay.
Yeah.
So yeah, I think that's for me. I took out— I'm not trying to— I don't give a damn if I go viral, right?
Because it don't mean nothing.
Like, but you have to really, really like tell yourself that because Oh, you go viral, then you could be like, dang, I gotta do— I gotta come back like this, man. I'm like this, like Martin show, Jamie Foxx show, Steve Harvey show, all them shows, them legendary shows, Friends, all of them. Not every episode was like a banger, right? It's like an album. Every track ain't gonna be the platinum track. You might have 5 platinum hits on there, but the, the album got 15 songs.
That's true.
Yeah, they still gonna listen, they still gonna watch. Shit. I just know that my body of work gonna keep you coming back.
Yeah.
And it's gonna be that one like, man, remember when he did that? Boom. And you, and you put it on Netflix, you can watch your old shows on Netflix, you go to that one episode that you love Before you know it, you be taking a nap, you done played about 10 episodes. That money made, there's money getting made whether they watching or not.
True.
So I'm just building up my catalog, my body of work to the point where it's like, I can't go wrong. I can't lose.
That's a good way to view it. 'Cause sometimes I'd be sitting there, I'm like, damn, the views are not there. Like that shit was bothering me.
But now I'm like, mm. Even with my show, the Lou Young Show, make sure y'all tune in.
Yeah, let's talk about the show. What's going on with the show? You just started, right?
No, it's my third season.
Oh, okay.
The first season was cool.
Uh-huh.
Um, then the second season really pissed me off because it was like some, some bullshit happened, then we had to get out of the studio. So then I was like really trying to find like somewhere to shoot and this and third. Um, But that was just like, I go back to football because it's like adversity. You know what I'm saying? Everything ain't gonna be peaches and herb. You know what I'm saying? Like, it's just, you gotta learn how to deal with the bullshit. And last, you know, the second season was, I was really pissed off. So I was like, man, it felt like, I don't like to lose. I don't care what it is, I don't like to lose. You play me at tic-tac-toe, I don't fucking like to lose. I whoop my daughter ass in tic-tac-toe.
Every time?
Don't care.
Damn.
Don't care. Even when I'm about to win, I still tell her I'm about to, you know what I'm saying? Like, but it's just that drive in me. So this season I was like, all right, we gonna do, I'm gonna do it. You know, I had the right production, the right people. And it was like those first two seasons, like I was, damn near editing the episodes.
I was, still am.
Yeah, but like, it'll be like this, motherfucker send me— my boy would send me like the, the raw version of it and be like, oh yeah, tell me what you think. You ain't did nothing. I'm making all these corrections. Like, goddamn, what, did you do anything yet? No. And then it was like, basically, I'm paying you to— and what I just did, and you know what I'm saying? I'm making your job easier, and I'm still paying. You're supposed to make my life easier.
A couple times it happened to me, like, people reach out to me and they, they drop those big names that they're working with. Big names, trust me, man.
I don't give a fuck who follow you or don't follow you. If you work with Lil Baby or DaBaby, you fucking up my baby right here, my bodywork.
That's what I said. I said, like, because I remember it was somebody who took my episode, edited it, did the absolute horrible job with it. Like, you could tell it was some AI fucking shit that he used. Oh Yeah, and then he was like— and I'm like, bro, it's Wednesday, 7 PM. I'm dropping my episode tomorrow at 7 PM. Thank God I know how to edit. So I had to edit my own shit and upload the episode on. And I was like, I just wasted money. Not only I'm paying for production and everything else, but I just paid you for editing and you fucked this whole thing up. I'm like, nah, get out of my face. I'm like— and because he was like, oh, can you collab? I'm like, I ain't collabing with you for fucking money.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, to show that they shooting you and shit. Yeah, get the fuck on. So like, that's trial and error with stuff. Like, even from the beginning, you gotta learn. I done had— that's how I learned how to edit, really, in like 2019. Around 2020, I was making like, uh, it's called Coach— it was like, uh, uh, Game Week. That was the name of it. And it was like, um, my character Coach Slough, and then Dante is like my bro Shaq, but he was playing the player. And it was just like that player-coach relationship when it's a good crazy player.
Yeah.
And a crazy-ass coach that just love each other. He may have to bail him outta jail or he may have to help him pick up baby mamas, kids, this, that, and third. And I ain't, obviously I didn't have like a big old budget or nothing.
Yeah.
But like I had like, I had like, I think Druski came on it one time. Like it was like bullshit. Like, but I was able to just, work with. I had Waka Flocka pulled up on it one time, like, damn, on the strength of just working and being around people and networking and stuff like that. Um, but I said all that to say, like, I remember the first one I did, the dude, we sit there for hours looking at the footage, and I'm just like, yeah, okay, well, he sent me that shit. All he did was send it to me in a sequence, no cut, no edit, no nothing.
Not even like mixing, nothing.
Oh, and I was like, what the hell? So then, um, shout out to my homegirl, uh, Taya. She, she was like the person who really, like, she was my best friend. Like, she showed me, she told me, she was the one that told me I should be doing Vine when we was in college. But I, you know, she always said, Lou, you need to be on fucking something, right? And, um, like I said, we like best friends, but She, she showed me low-key how to edit. I just watched her. She wasn't really like teaching me, but she just was like, you know what, this is bullshit. I'm gonna just get in here and start editing. Yeah. And I just kind of watched her and then kind of taught myself.
And yeah, but that's how it goes. Cause I, I'm a firm believer that you need to know how to do it yourself before you can outsource it to anybody.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And, and, and I know what I like and I know what I want. Exactly. Now fast forward, you know, trial and error. Some people that was there then, you better guarantee they asses ain't here now. And I ain't cut 'em off, they cut they self off. 'Cause they work ethic just wasn't gonna match up to my work ethic. I'm not gonna ask you for some shit that I'm not gonna do.
Exactly.
If I say, Nick, we supposed to be downstairs at 6, be the fuck down there at 6. Like, we gonna get this work in. And my young nephew, man, shout out to T Flix. That's my boy. He like, he's a young, just, I would say videographer, entrepreneur, the whole thing. He's only 21.
Those are the best though.
He's only 21.
He's not corrupted.
Oh my God. And he's like my nephew. Like he call me Unc, I call him Phew. And we are building something amazing. But I wouldn't have got that if I didn't go through the bullshit.
Yeah.
So sometimes the bullshit can lead you to somewhere that where you're supposed to be anyways.
Oh no, it's all God's plan.
And he be chopping that shit up. We be on the road. I done had videographers that's, it's like, okay, we did the work and we on the road. I'm downstairs vibing. Why the fuck is you down here taking a drink with me? Get that fucking footage done. He'd be like, uh, go ahead, honey, I'm gonna give me some food, go upstairs. He chopping that shit up. I can take a nap. I can think about another skit of this, that, and third. Yeah, yeah, more ideas. You know what I'm saying? I got more time to be better.
Exactly.
Instead of wasting time and taking less time trying to cover up somebody else's fuck up. Yeah. So it's a blessing.
And you have a co-host now, right?
Yeah, Trey Day. Trey Day. Like just adding, I just wanted to switch it up. You know what I'm saying? I just felt like, and I just, I like being around good energy. Like Trey Day, we done did stuff together. I'm a fan. Like these ain't just people I'm just like, oh, just come on show, boo. Nah, like I fuck with these people. Like Trey Day is my boy. Like it's my brother. My twiner.
Well, and you guys vibe, I feel like, you know.
Yeah, like we get it, man. It's a, like he done been to my house off some, off no content shit with my family. We all vibing, chilling, birthday parties and shit. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like it's a family atmosphere and it don't feel like work even though we working. You know what I mean? We have a good time. Gotta get you on the show.
I know I'm gonna come on.
Yes. And yeah, so with him and then like every, so once a week, I mean not once a week, once a month I have like my boys, Nab and Reggie Ball on. 'Cause I used to do Broken Play with them, but obviously, you know, schedules and everything. But we, our bond grew from just a podcast to like brotherhood. So it's like they gotta come on once a month. I'm gonna have, I have B-Lin come on like every other month or whatever. And then other guests as well.
Yeah. Nab is hilarious. Nab is like a whole different level of funny.
Yeah. Effortlessly. Literally. Like, Nav is like effortlessly.
It's crazy. It's amazing.
And shout out to Nav because he's the one who was like, he was like, "Lou bro, you got it." Like, he was like, you know what I'm saying? And I just picking up little stuff from him. And it's, everybody ain't a gatekeeper, you know?
But I think that's why everybody is able to grow in the space. 'Cause we're not like sitting here like, "Oh no." you have his contact, I'm not going to give it to you. Like, no, I'm gonna ask, hey, you want to do this? Like, you all got to collaborate because the only way to grow is to collaborate and like network with each other. Otherwise, I don't know what we're trying to do. If you're trying to like— and I know some people who would be like, they're like gatekeeping like this to themselves, and I'm like, well, that's why you make no money. I mean, it is what it is. It tracks. It very much tracks why, you know, you're doing what you're doing. And it's like, you know, go ahead and gatekeep. Okay, last thing before— because I know you got to go, but last thing, I also saw that, um, You said that it gives you an ick when women talk about your social media and say, oh, I love your social media.
Yeah. Why? Because it's like, I'm not using that to get you.
Okay.
You know what I mean? I'm trying to like, this is me, this is Lou, I'm chilling, what's happening? Let's have a good time, baby. Fuck are we talking about skits for? Now, okay, now it could be a good conversation or whatever, but let's talk about something else. I'm having a good time. I'm not talking about work right now. You know what I'm saying?
But are you able to separate that though?
Yeah.
You are?
Yes. Like I'm not on this date trying to make a skit. I'm trying to have some fun.
You never know. It might turn out into a funny skit.
Now then if that's just how the cookie crumbles, then that's just how we gonna have to eat. But at the same time, it's like, Ah, it's like that, the ick. I get the ick from that. I get the ick when women want low-key tell you like who they used to talk to.
Oh, um, why the fuck are you saying—
oh my God, like, it's like, uh, I'd be like, shut the fuck up. I'm like, you know what, it's time for your Uber because now I'm gonna dig on soft. Everything, everything that went away, the feeling that it—
the—
I was amped up, all that. It's like You take all— you just bust the balloon. You take all the air out the room with that.
For what reason are they talking about who they used to date?
You'd be surprised of how women try to impress you. Or not just me, like it could be a group of, you know, women and men, we all vibing, and you'd be amazed. You'd be surprised at the conversations or the little like subtle hints of who they used to talk to or some shit. I'd be like, I don't give a fuck. What the fuck? I remember I might have been like 18, right? I'm still in college. Well, 19, right? Or yeah. And we used to be able to like— we had fake IDs, so we used to like buy sections at the club. Oh yeah, yeah. I've been outside for a long time.
Damn, Lou.
Yeah. And like 19-year-old buying sections.
With what money?
Wherever all that, huh? It was NIL for NIL.
Yeah, yeah, that was not— yeah, the street pharmacy money, you know.
Oh, okay, okay.
But I'm sure the inflation wasn't that bad, so it's probably like $400 or $500.
Yeah, it wasn't that bad then.
Yeah, it's not like a rent price, right?
Putting all our money together. Yeah, me and like, like probably like one or two of my homeboys. That's all we need. We ain't need 10 on one bottle like y'all doing now. Oh yeah, 3 of us, we split it up and we got some little vibes and we vibing, right? Yeah, older than us too, they didn't know. And I remember we was like going to eat after and we having a good night and this one girl just was like, she wanted everybody to know that, that she talked to or messing with Kevin Durant.
Okay.
And we was just like eating. He was like, "I am big whoop-de-doo." Like, someone's like, "What the fuck? Why you fucking the moolah?" Like, or like, I think the game was on and they was playing.
He's like, "I can't." She's like, "Oh yeah, that's his." Other bitch be like, "I can't stand him." Yeah, "I can't stand Aubrey." Like, "Who the fuck is Aubrey?" Drake, like, you know, like, did you see that video?
Yes. Like, like, so like, you're like, I can't stand Kev.
Oh yeah.
And everybody— and so you want somebody to be like, Kev, like, is there a Kev here? Like, what the fuck happened?
Like, let me FaceTime him. Like, man, like, this is— this shit is crazy.
He playing in the game right now. Shut up, enjoy your meal. You know what I mean? But like, it is what it is. It's just like the levels that sometimes women go to impress it's like very lame. I just feel like if you got it, it's gonna show.
I feel like impressing now is when you're saying, hey, I haven't had sex in a year, I don't be around man.
Now see, shit like that, that's impressive. That's what— now that is what's gonna make me jump through the goddamn— what you need? Exactly.
What?
You ain't giving it up. Now, you know, everybody could say that, whatever, but I think I got a good eye of when I know, like, you know, she— everybody got a pass. Everybody do a little shit. Nobody's perfect.
Nobody's perfect.
No, but you could tell who, who, who, who just giving it out. Exactly. The radar is up. And if a dude don't think, he just in denial. Just like vice versa, if a woman thinks, you know Oh, you know, you would know.
You would kind of know, like, you know if the man is outside or not. It's very telling. Exactly. And there's patterns. Every man has a pattern. So is a woman. Everybody has a pattern. So once you learn the pattern, you're like, all right.
You take it on the chin.
Mm-hmm.
Or, you know.
Yeah, it's very easy. But do you like— because like, I feel like what I've been coming across a lot is that people like the idea of me. They don't really know me, you know? So do you come across that a lot?
Yeah, like they— uh, okay, um, women automatically think, oh my God, you're such a good dad. How the fuck do you know that?
Exactly.
I know I'm a great dad. I don't play. But you don't know shit about me. You don't know that. You just see me post a picture too, right? Like, so the idea of like automatically, you know the idea of maybe me being her baby daddy. Fuck the marriage, you want the seed.
Yeah, she wants the forever tie, you know?
You know what I mean? And I ain't— we ain't doing that again. We is not doing that.
You're gonna get married before you have another child?
I would like to.
Wow.
Why? I would like to, but I ain't gonna lie, my dad told me— my dad told me recently, he was like, he said, look, man, you're probably 35 this year.
So that's not 65.
I know, but he was just like, it's time, it's time to drop another one, man. He said— I said, Dad, I'm gonna be married.
He's like, ah, don't listen to your dad.
But he kind of got a point though, you know. Obviously, I'm— if I have another kid, I'm gonna have two baby mothers, you know, two different mothers. That's a fact. Like, I'm not going back to my daughter's mother. We have a good co-parenting relationship. Shout out to Mariah, you know what I'm saying? I did shit with Mariah for real.
Really?
Made a real, made a real blessing.
I love it.
You know what I'm saying?
It's amazing that you have a good relationship with her.
Yeah. And that, I think that right there is why I'm able to do what I do with the same mind, the same energy, you know what I'm saying? I ain't stressed now. Am I gonna lie and say we didn't have our issues early on? Doesn't matter. But that is why we're able to— we look back on that shit now and just laugh.
I mean, it's normal. You're human. You're going to go through experiences that are crazy. You're going to go— but I feel like as long as you know that there is peace as far as when she is with the mom, when she's with you, it's all good, then that's all you want. Don't matter if you're married or not. That's the relationship you want between two parents.
But with that though, That's about— that's my fear. It's like, I think about it, it's like, oh, I can have another kid. Then I'll be like, ah, damn, I remember them first couple years. That's— do I want to, you know, deal with that? Because if I'm just having a baby, it's going to be with a woman that she bet she, she better be around.
I don't think that the age matters in that scenario. I feel like as long as you know that that's going to be a beautiful— like, you both want the kid and it's like product of love, that's what matters. Because that's how I wanted. But it's very rare now that you can find somebody who's like, oh yeah, I want to get married and have kids. Yeah, I want to have kids, but I want to be married. I don't want to be like—
you don't want to be a baby mom?
I don't— fuck no. You're not gonna call me a baby. You're not gonna call me white. You're not gonna call me a baby mama. There's two things you're not gonna call me in my life.
You don't play that white shit.
No, I don't. I hate it. It's like, it's like, don't put that label on me. Why?
I feel you though. But you're not like— it's just like Dominican people that like, like, they, they Black to me, but they don't call them Black, they call them Dominican, right?
That's what I'm saying.
You know what I'm saying? Like, why can't they just call you Russian?
Exactly. I don't, I don't know what— or why do we even need to discuss what color you are? And why does that even fucking matter? You know, I know, but still, it's like that thing is like, okay, we're gonna walk out and be, sky is blue. Well, no shit, sky is fucking blue. Really? You just figured that out? Like, it's, it's like, it's like so bizarre to me that that's something that we pay so much attention to.
You date Black men only?
Yeah, only. All I got to say, if you want my video to go viral, I don't like when people call me white, I'm Russian. That shit is going to do numbers right away, just that alone. If I clip that, that's going to do like a million views. They're going to be like, you don't understand, you got privilege, you're this, you're that. Shut the fuck up, you don't know what the fuck I got going on in my life.
So Does that ever make it hard? Like, you date a Black dude, like, you ever met a Black family?
Yeah. No, I mean, I understand that there is like going to be things that would have to be discussed, you know, because obviously like it's in a way it's also like a clash of cultures where like, how do we, you know, it's just communication. I feel like you gotta put a little seasoning on that food. Shit, I like seasoning on my food. I don't like plain food. So yeah, you know, I understand.
You ain't white. You're not white.
No, I'm Russian, but like, I've been in America for so long, so like, and I've seen what I need to see, especially like in the South. I don't want to identify as that. I get to choose what the fuck. Like, people, some people identify as dogs and trees and shit, so why can't I just be Russian, right? Yeah, like, why, why wouldn't I, right? And that's another thing I'm saying, always saying, like, I want to be married and I want to have kids in marriage, but I don't want to be just married just so it's for the paperwork, you know. I want to be like for real married.
That's what— and that's my clash. I just feel like marriage now became a business deal.
It's always a business deal.
It's always been. And so, but then you got, you know, all them pictures and all that shit.
Oh, that's not what I mean when I say marriage.
No, no, I'm just saying like the, the art of marriage I feel like has maybe devalued.
Definitely. It's, it's, it's, it's gone. It's gone.
Is it for the, the reception and all this? I get it, I get it. I get it, celebrating love, but I'm not spending $30,000 for a bunch of motherfuckers to drink free.
I don't want no wedding. I don't want no reception. I don't want no party. What I'm going to do once I'm married, I want to have everybody in the house and have like a fire pit and then just sit down and talk. Maybe like have a little drink or two, maybe drink tea. I don't know, something. Just like, that's my ideal wedding.
Just a little vibe.
Just a wedding. Like, honestly, I don't even want people that are married. Like, I want to keep it to myself. See?
Real, like, just relaxed.
Just—
I want to do like a destination.
Exactly, something of a kind.
Because I know everybody can't afford it, right?
And they got to pay for their own shit.
Shred that shit off. Like, we got 10 people here, that's all we need.
Yeah, yeah. And I feel like now, like, you know, if you want— if you really want to— because like, I always say I don't want a wedding, but like some men are like, oh, I want to have a wedding because it's a party or whatever, because it's tradition. Well, there's sponsorships that we can get. I ain't paying for this shit. They can give me a dress, I can wear a dress, we can tag it, we can pick a location, we can do a brand deal with them. You know, we can make this a business deal.
No, you're right.
Yeah, the ring, you know, we can work with the store. We can work, we can work. I mean, shit, the— your ring, you know, the suit, we can go to another store. We can literally organize this whole thing. We can make it a million-dollar wedding where we making a million, not spending. In that scenario, I'll have a wedding. Branding. Branding, yeah.
Because real NIL type shit.
Yeah, because like, what the fuck? I ain't spending money on this. That's right, I don't really want it. So like, to me, don't matter. But if— because it's such a big deal for the people, you know, like people are doing this shit for Instagram.
Exactly. Then they get broken up and then they had a kid and now they— it's just them and the kid in the picture. It's me and my sunshine for life.
And shut the fuck up, single life and all of that.
Just take care of what you got to take care of. We ain't got to know all the announcements.
Yeah, because that's not what I mean when I say marriage. My marriage is very different. Like, I want it to be a partnership between two people that are wanting to have children together and willing to stay through whatever it is, whether we have to open up the marriage or not. We can have a conversation about that because I get it. We're all human. People want to fuck if they want to. If he wants to fuck, he can be respectful. That's all I'm saying.
Huh.
I have like, I have my own like view of how I've seen it. I don't believe in, because you know, I've seen some shit too, so it's like, for what? Yeah, just like the way you do business. Oh yeah, we do good business here. All right, I know you have to go, but I got a little gift for you. Oh yeah, we always do good.
Thank you.
Out here. Okay, it's a little larger size than you said, but I know it's, uh small.
It's like, oh yeah, yeah, I like this.
Oh yeah, it says talk less, do more.
Okay.
Yeah. Oh, that's the last question I was gonna ask you. Every person that comes on the show, they all answer one question. There's one thing you can talk less about, what would it be?
Talk less about?
Do more of.
I should— I want to talk less about doing movies. I want to do movies.
Really?
I want to do more. I want to do movies.
Have you had any offers?
A couple auditions, but I want— but even still, I gotta break the door on my damn self. I'm gonna talk less about it and just do it.
I feel like if you want something, you just gotta act on it, and you know, the universe works in mysterious ways. It's just gonna open up that door for you. Yeah, because that's, that's what I said too. I said I want more sponsorships, and then like boom, I'm just like, now things are coming.
I'm Eddie Murphy. Wayne Brothers and shit. Just make my own.
There you go. Or like get a Tubi deal, right?
If I would have some shit to present though.
You come up with a plan, put all your skits together in one movie.
Deadass serious.
Have some psychotic, you know, something.
I'm not playing.
Good.
Yeah.
Okay, so when do we check in with you? 6 months in? Is that enough time? A month in. A month in?
2 months in.
Okay, you guys, we gotta check in with Lou if he addition, or if he proposed some movies. Yeah, to whatever platform. And we got to keep him accountable because I might have you in one. Me in the movie?
Little, little, uh, little cameo.
Oh yeah, I would love to do movies too now. I want to, I want to take acting classes. That's the next thing I want to do. I want to be— I want to act. I want to do everything social media.
We could reenact the fucking Apollo Creed and the, and the, then the shit. Bridget Nelson.
Wait, maybe that's what you pitch. You see how it works? All right, well, tell people where they can find you.
Uh, @LouYoung, L-O-U-U-U, L-O-U-U-U, uh, Young. That's Instagram, TikTok. Um, Lou Young III on YouTube and Facebook. @TheLouYoungShow, Instagram. We on Spotify and Apple. Good. Yeah, tune in. YouTube, tune in, man. We got shit dropping.
What's next for you? What's next big thing?
Let me see. I just came back from the WWE Monday Night Raw. I did a few good things there. They just had me on— what's that? It Is What It Is podcast. That was cool last night. I'm on a Club 520 podcast from Netflix, so we did like a little impromptu there. Next thing is, I think, the NFL Draft. This is in 2 days, so—
oh wow, okay. Well, that's gonna be after we drop.
Yeah, yeah, we don't— yeah, yeah, yeah, we don't stop.
What do you do there? Like, you just go—
I'm gonna be on the red carpet interviewing the, the, um, athletes. The athletes, yeah. So—
oh wow, okay. Like the people who Is it in Atlanta?
It's in Pittsburgh.
Okay, so you go in there to do that? Oh, wow. So Lou is like in between Vegas and Pittsburgh, and so he just dropped by Talk Less Show. Yeah. I feel special now.
Thank you.
All love. Thank you. Thank you. I know, because we've been planning this couple of times.
Yeah, I know, I know, I know. That's my fault. I apologize. I did. That's on me.
Third time is the charm, though. So you guys don't give up.
Yeah. And I was very, you know, I don't know the word, but yeah, I was definitely making sure that we got it done. Yeah, you did. I wasn't just bullshitting.
You did.
So yeah.
'Cause I know some people be like, yo, fuck this. And at first I was like, man.
Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. I don't play like that.
