The video (by Danielle Jhiani) lists five common myths about intrusive/harm-related OCD and POCD: (1) people who have inappropriate thoughts want to do them, (2) such thoughts are abnormal, (3) feelings arising from thoughts must mean something, (4) thoughts need to be taken seriously, and (5) having these thoughts means something is wrong with you. It then presents four realities: intrusive thoughts are uncomfortable/anxiety-driven; everyone gets random thoughts (non-anxious people ignore them); taking thoughts seriously produces uncomfortable feelings (so learning not to decreases their impact); and having intrusive thoughts does not mean there is something wrong with you—OCD is common.
