Guided Meditation for Relationship OCD (ROCD)

A single-speaker guided meditation (YouTube) led by Danielle Jhiani focusing on Relationship OCD (ROCD). The practice instructs breath and body awareness, noticing intrusive relationship-related thoughts without engaging, using visualizations (thoughts on leaves, uncertainty as mist, imperfection as a bubble), and cultivating self-compassion and acceptance of uncertainty. The meditation closes with grounding, encouragement to continue practice, and reassurance about recovery.

Welcome to this guided meditation for relationship ocd.
This practice will help you reconnect with your inner calm. Observe your thoughts without judgment.
Create space for uncertainty and compassion.
Find a quiet, comfortable space where you won't be disturbed.
Sit or lie down in a position that feels supportive and relaxed, and gently close your eyes.
Take a moment to honor yourself for showing up for this practice. You are safe here, so let's begin.
Bring your attention to your breath.
Notice the natural rhythm of your inhalation and exhalation.
You don't need to change anything, just observe.
Inhale deeply through your nose.
Hold for a moment and exhale slowly through your mouth.
Let's repeat that together.
Breathe in deeply.
Pause and let go.
As you exhale, imagine releasing the tension from your body.
Letting go of any tightness or discomfort.
With every breath. Allow yourself to sink deeper into relaxation.
Feel your shoulders soften.
Your jaw release.
And your hands rest gently.
I want you to shift your awareness to the sensations in your body.
Notice where your body makes contact with the floor, the chair or the bed.
Feel the weight of gravity anchoring you.
If intrusive thoughts or doubts about your relationship arise, simply notice them.
Imagine each thought as a cloud drifting across the sky.
You don't need to hold on to it or do anything with it.
Let it come.
And let it go.
Now, gently bring your focus to the sounds around you.
Without labeling them, simply notice the soundscape of this moment.
Maybe it's the hum of a distant fan, the rustle of leaves, or the sound of your own breath.
Take a deep breath and silently remind yourself, I am here in this moment.
I am safe in my relationship.
I don't have to solve or fix anything right now.
As we continue, you may notice thoughts related to your relationship.
Fears or uncertainties surfacing.
This is completely new, natural.
Instead of resisting or analyzing these thoughts, I want you to imagine holding them in a gentle, open hand.
Allow the thought to be there without doing anything about it or even thinking about it.
I want you to say to yourself, I notice this thought and I don't need to engage with it right now.
Visualize placing that thought on a leaf in a slow moving stream.
Watch the leaf float past you, carrying the thought away.
You are not your thoughts.
You are the observer of them.
If another doubt or fear comes up.
Repeat the process.
Notice it.
Allow it.
Place it on the leaf and let it float past you.
And each time you return to your breath.
Inhale. I am safe.
Exhale. I am grounded.
Relationship OCD often brings discomfort with uncertainty and imperfection.
While it seems Counterintuitive.
This works very, very well.
We're going to take a moment to invite that discomfort in and create space for it without resistance.
Someone who has had OCD.
In relationships and someone who's overcome it.
I want you to continue these practices.
However resistant you might feel.
Repeat silently to yourself.
It's okay to not know everything.
It's okay to feel uncertain.
No relationship or person is perfect.
I am safe in this moment.
Visualize uncertainty as a cloud of mist in front of you.
Instead of running from it, take a step closer.
Notice how the mist doesn't harm you.
It simply exists.
Allow yourself to stand with it, knowing that you can handle this feeling.
And if you don't know.
Learn to trust with practice that you can handle this feeling.
Now, visualize imperfection as a bubble around you.
Instead of trying to fix this imperfect bubble, I want you to sit down.
And accept and ground yourself in it.
Accepting that imperfection is everywhere and perfection does not exist.
Take a deep breath and affirm. I can be at peace even in imperfection and uncertainty.
Now place your hand gently over your heart.
Feel the warmth and safety of your own touch.
Repeat softly to yourself. I am doing the best I can.
I can handle uncomfortable feelings.
I am worthy of love and kindness from myself.
Picture yourself as a dear friend offering comfort and care.
You don't need to have all the answers. You are enough just as you are.
Take another deep breath in.
And let it out with a sigh.
Slowly bring your awareness back to your physical surroundings.
Wiggle your fingers and toes gently.
And when you're ready, open your eyes, returning to the space around you.
Know that you can return to this place of calm anytime you need it.
You have this meditation to help you learn to observe your thoughts without judgment.
To sit with uncertainty and imperfection.
And to show yourself compassion no matter what.
Regardless of your thoughts, your feelings.
Your behaviors.
Always be compassionate with yourself.
The journey to reach the lifetime recovery stage for relationship OCD takes time.
Education.
And support.
I have no doubt that you can get there just like I have.
Happiness and peace in your relationships is possible for anybody.
Thank yourself for this time.
Take one final deep breath in.
And out.
And carry this sense of peace and self kindness with you as you move forward in your day, focusing on who you want to be today, despite any uncomfortable thoughts, doubts or feelings that you may get.
I hope you have a great rest of your day.
And hope to see you again soon.
It.
