At the F1 Australia Grand Prix, two speakers explain how data analysis lets drivers assess themselves and build confidence. That mental clarity frees them to focus on technical feedback for engineers, which improves lap times.

And every decision is critical, every second is critical. That means the group or the individual has to operate at a very high level.
Really, self-assessment, there's a lot of data analysis in motorsport nowadays, and so you can see where you've gained on yourself, which is a good way to build confidence, and confidence builds lap time. To then have that spare mental capacity to think about the technical side so you can give good feedback to your engineer and then in the end find lap time.
