money loves speed

Devon Canup argues speed beats planning. He went from broke to $300k a month, grew TikTok from 1,000 to 250,000 followers in months, and launched a $200k masterclass in 24 hours. Fast action generates data, accelerates learning, and creates momentum.

Money loves speed. The faster that you can move in life and in business, the richer you'll get, the more that will happen in your life, the more data points you will have, and ultimately the better at the things that you do will become. If you want to get rich, you must understand that you must move with speed. What got me to being from a broke, completely lost, confused loser to making millions of dollars a year a person with lots of aura traveling around the world and doing whatever I want all the time is speed, is understanding the dynamics of having an idea and executing on that idea. You see, a lot of people, they have an idea, and what do they do with that idea? They think, oh, what if it fails? What if it doesn't work out? What if I do this and I get in trouble? What if, what if, what if, what if, what if? They're thinking about all these theoretical possibilities that have not occurred yet. What if? Yet the people that become successful like myself to now, uh, it's the end of the month, I'm sitting at around $300,000 earned this month. What's the difference of myself and other multi-seven, eight-figure earners that I know is that when you have an idea, you take action on it. Immediately. Oh, this is a great business idea. Okay, go make that business happen. And you execute on it. You don't overthink. You don't think about the possibilities of the issues. You just take action. Because what happens is when you take action, you will make mistakes. You'll make bad decisions. You'll fail. But that failure is the greatest teacher. The failure that you run into and that you achieve is what's going to tell you whether or not what you're doing is correct or the right direction. And the funny thing about failure is the more that you fail, the more talented you will become at the things that you do. Look at the greatest basketball players in the world, somebody like Steph Curry. He shot over 200,000 shots in the, in the, in the last decade. Of his career, just sitting there shooting the basketball over and over and over and over and over again. And when you have that many shots that you've taken, even if you're bad at shooting and you have terrible form, you will get better at making the basket— the ball go into the basket. It's the same with anything. It's the same with recording videos like this. If I record 10,000 of these videos inevitably, when I just keep looking at the results, I can see how well they perform. And that's the, the whole thing. I started doing TikTok a year ago. I had 1,000 followers on TikTok, and I decided one day, you know what, I'm going to become big on TikTok. So what did I start doing? I started posting 3 times a day, and one of my videos ended up getting 30,000 views. And I told myself, you know what, I'm gonna start posting 5 to 10 times a day. And within 30 days of me deciding I was going to start posting every day and becoming big on TikTok, I ended up hitting 100,000 followers on the app. And within, I think it was 3 months, 4 months, I had 250,000 followers on TikTok. I decided, you know what, let me sell something to this, this group of people. I probably made $1,000 in revenue from TikTok ad revenue. And I decided to sell a product. I did a big like webinar masterclass. And within the first 24 hours of doing the masterclass, we closed $200,000 in, in revenue, we collected, I think, $120,000 in 24 hours or so. And then that week, we ended up collecting another $100,000 within the next 7 days. So all within about 45 days, I was able to not only gain over 100,000 followers, but I also was able to make over $200 grand in under a week. And so here's the thing you have to understand is that all came from speed, that came from a decision on something I was going to do and achieve, and I locked in and went all in and did that. That's the secret. What you're looking for of like, how do I get rich? How do I, you know, get the dream life that I want? How do I get out of my 9-to-5 career? How do I, do whatever I want every single day with my life. It comes from speed. It comes from taking action on things, moving forward on them, and then just seeing what happens. And a lot of people, they'll see like one failure, like a miss, like they don't get the result that they're looking for, and then they give up. But instead, the really smart people know, do all the reps, do a lot of reps. And it's usually in the nuance, the little like 1% of things. For YouTube, it's the thumbnail, the title, and the hook. If I just keep micro-optimizing those 3 things, can do immensely change the performance of a YouTube video that I post. And so if I upload 100 different videos, I could test a little bit different titles, a little bit of different thumbnails, a little bit of different hooks, and I will end up getting completely different results on every single video just by playing around with those 3 things. And then obviously, the emotion, the feeling, how I sound on camera, my ability to articulate my ideas is then like secondary. But what matters the most is getting people to click on the video. And it's that little micro-optimizations that provide success. Thomas Edison tried over 10,000 different, uh, filaments for a light bulb, uh, until he was able to find the filament that was able to work the best and basically invent the light bulb. And it's through that failure, it's through the idea of I'm gonna create a light bulb and speeding through those 10,000 failures is what got him ultimately to the result. Yet most people, as soon as they make a mistake once, something doesn't work out once, or even as soon as they conceive the idea inside of their brain, inside of their skull, inside of their head, they're already thinking about every way that it could go wrong and every possibility of how it will go wrong. Yet the difference of myself and why you will be different if you follow my advice inside of here is you instead will realize as soon as I have an idea, I must take action on it immediately. And when you take action on it immediately, That's when you will see the outcome. You will see the results dramatically change. Everything will change in your life. Money loves speed. The faster that you move, the quicker that you move, the more intentional that you move, and the more that you learn, and the faster that you move through these learning points, these data points, the sooner that you can finally receive the dopamine inside of your brain and your body and the hormones that start inspiring, the sooner that you will light up and have even more motivation and inspiration to do the next thing. As soon as you take action, as soon as you move, that's when everything starts to unlock for you. And it's only then when you start moving and you start taking action, you start doing these things, that you will start seeing the result completely change for you. So if you want to change your life, if you want to make more money, if you want to live a better life, and you want to live a 0.1% life, because majority of people aren't doing this, the 99.9% of people are not moving with speed. If you want to get rich, if you want to live your dream life, if you want to do whatever you want all the time, you must move with speed. That's it.
