Some people are so poor all they have is money

A monologue on what wealth really means. The speaker argues that money alone doesn't make you rich, and that relationships, trust, and social capital matter more for lasting success and resilience.
Let me tell you about one of the richest people that I know, and this is actually one of my friends, dad's. It's kind of funny, you know, most people, they think of wealth and think of rich. They think of people that have a ton of money. And this guy, yeah, he's pretty well set off. I wouldn't say he's like, necessarily like a billionaire. And I've met billionaires, and I would say in some ways, like, a lot of ways, this guy's richer than a lot of billionaires. And for him, it's. It's about, like, who he knows and the connections that he have. It blows my mind, you know, it's like if I need, you know, let's say a landscaper, he knows a guy, has a friend, has a family member, someone that's a landscaper, you need an attorney, this guy has an attorney. If you need, like, a dentist or a doctor, this guy knows somebody that's a dentist or a doctor. His connectedness and knowing all these different people is what makes him rich. He knows so many different people. He has so many friends. He has so many people that he can go to. I remember watching this video of a. Of a woman that was. That survived World War II in, like, the Jewish concentration camps. And her thing of, like, saying, like, who a good friend is or a good person in life is, is somebody that would hide you if you had to be hidden. You know, she had to be hidden and, you know, maybe she got captured and stuff and found. But what made for a good friend after that, that she went through was the realization that a really good friend is somebody that I can trust to even, like, hide me and put their whole entire name and reputation on the line because they have that value in that relationship. And so that's, you know, this guy that's. I'm talking about here, too, that's like one of the richest people I know. He has that. He has so many friends, he has so many family members, he has so many people that he is connected with. That if, you know, like, let's say that he needed something, like, he has those people in his life. And that's what it's all about. You know, it's like that's worth more than any sort of amount of money that you make. And that's something that you should be looking for when it comes to wealth and riches is, you know, I've been seeing a lot online. You know, there's a lot of, like, drama and all sorts of stuff of like, you know, other people like calling out other people and saying things like, you know, giving labels to people that are, you know, not nice. And at the end of the day, we're all trying to get rich. We're all trying to do cool things with our life, and we're trying to just live a full life. The real enemy should not be each other. Real enemy should be, you know, the education system. The real enemy should be politics. The real enemy should be, you know, the people trying to take away our freedom. That's the enemy. These large corporations, it. That's the enemy. It's not. It's not us, each other all trying to get rich here online. It's, you know, it's. It's that when a day comes where it's like, you do need that connection, you need that friend. You need that person that's helpful helping for that situation. It could be something subtle, like maybe the AC goes out in your house or you have, like. I remember we actually had this house get flooded last year. Yeah, just last year. And we needed people to help us, you know, like, we had to. We had to go move out and go live in other places for a couple months. And, yeah, we had the money to be able to do so, but if we didn't have the money, we would need to have friends that we could go sleep on the couches, or family members that we could go to, or friends that we could go to. And then also, when it came to, like, the needing of this place of getting fixed and repaired, we needed people that could help us out that weren't gonna rip us off and just try to, you know, just take the most amount of money that they possibly can. I've been ripped off and had a lot of money taken from me or people just overcharged me all the time. And that's, you know, where I say that this man is super wealthy. He's able to get us, like, you know, like, he's able to get us, like, the best prices. He's able to give us the best thing, like, of just getting the job done because of who he knows. And in reality, you know, he's able to save so much. He has so many owed favors. He has so many people that he can always ask the favor from. He has so many people that he's connected to because he's always, you know, having. Inviting people over to his house. He's always having friends. He's always having family over. He's always, you know, trying to give to the people around him. If it's not, like, tangible things Then it's, you know, just a great day, a great time, a great moment, great memories with the people around him. And these things compound into making him a very valuable and a very rich man. Like I said, yes, he makes good money and he has good money and you know, he's been pretty smart with it and invested it pretty well. But he also has put it into the right things. He has also put it into things like he's also built these relationships with these people that make him an extremely wealthy man. And I would say, like I said, he's one of the wealthiest men that I've met because he has that connection, he has those connections, he has those relationships with people. So the thing for you is, think about it this way. You know, it's not about just like getting rich quick or anything like that. You know that that's very short sighted thinking. If you're just thinking how can I get rich in the next couple of years? What you need to be thinking is how can I be in a place to where you'll always be rich, you'll always have connections, you'll always have these relationships, you'll always have people that will testify for you if you know, you made like a bad business decision or a business thing or like, you know, verbiage gets weird and people, you know, think that you're in it for the wrong intentions. You need people to vouch for you. You need people to go to when things get tough. I was listening to his book by 50 Cent by Curtis Jackson and he talks about inside of his book that failure is inevitable even when you get rich. It happens to everybody. Everybody's going to go through some trouble, everyone's going to go through some tough times. Even when you're starting to get really rich and really successful, it's inevitable that you're going to run into people or things or things will happen in your life that set you back. And it's about being able to persevere through those times of difficulty and through those times that most people would give up. That differentiates the really successful from the people that are kind of successful. And so that's what you need. You need to realize that it's not a short game, it's not a three, five year game, it's a 20 year game, it's a 30 year game. Let's get rich now so we can enjoy our lives. And let's do that quick. So then we have options in life and freedom. And if something hits the fan, then we have options of what we can go do. But the way to have the most amount of options is to know people, is to know the right people, is to be connected. And so reach out to people, connect with people. Now, when you don't need it, give away everything that you like, give all the value, give all the information. And now when you're in a state of abundance, so that way, when you have things in times in your life where you have, like I said, financial setbacks, difficulties of making progress, it doesn't impact you one bit. You're able to get back up on your feet faster, you're able to fix things faster, you're able to have things not cost you ridiculous amounts of money because you have the connections and the people that you know, and you have people that you can do business with and bring your business with to and helping them out in times when they're difficult. So that way you have all these people that will help you out in times when it's difficult for you. So make friends, make connections, go connect with people. People are the answer that you're looking for if you're wanting to get rich.
