stop trying to figure everything out

A solo monologue about why waiting to have everything figured out stops you from succeeding. The speaker uses 50 Cent and Steve Jobs as examples of people who took action first and learned as they went, arguing that most success comes from deciding and doing, not planning.
You don't need to have everything figured out. And in fact, most of these people that you see that are leaps and bounds and significantly further farther than you are, they didn't know what they were doing either. In fact, none of us know what we're doing either. One of my biggest epiphanies that I had once I became rich and successful was how many people that are rich and successful that don't know what they're doing. I thought I was a special case. I thought I was a special snowflake and somebody that was unique and different that couldn't not have things figured out. It was really confusing to me for a long time. So I started to see some success and started to then start talking to other people that were further than me. And I came to find out that this is the journey. I. That this is the pathway. The pathway that is discovering that you don't know what you don't know. And we have to learn through failure. Here's the trick, though, that failure doesn't always have to be your own. And that's the goal, is to try to learn through other people's failures. But a lot of times, some of us, if you're like myself, we have to learn through failure ourselves. And failure is the vehicle that helps us realize that we need to get better, that we need to move forward faster, we need to make changes, we're going the wrong direction. Sometimes we have to do everything wrong to know how not to do things so then we can start doing the right thing. And so you don't need to figure everything out. 50 Cent, you know, rapper Curtis Jackson, he's someone who's became insanely wealthy. I'm not sure if he's a billionaire, but he's multiple nine figures, probably a billionaire. But for him, when he got started in his career, he didn't know he was going to own record labels or become this music artist. He didn't know any of that. And in fact, when he got started, he just instead focused. Like, he at first just got into selling drugs and he wanted to wear nice clothes. He saw guys that were wearing nice clothes ask him how they did it, and turned out that they were selling drugs. So he's like, okay, I gotta do that. And I think it was his mom that was selling drugs as well. So he sold drugs and he did it and started making some money and started buying nice clothes, and then he wanted to start wearing nice jewelry. He was hanging out with the guys with nice clothes, and turns out they had nice jewelry as well. So he wanted that as well. So he got to where he was getting nice jewelry and then he wanted the nice cars. And so he started driving, getting nice cars. I can't remember if it was before he started selling drugs or after that. His mom got killed because she was trying to provide a life for him. It was like, at a young age that Curtis Jackson's mom was killed in over, like a drug incident, like selling drugs or something like that. Sadly that, you know, that. That got this mind into him that he. There has to be another path, there has to be another way of doing this and stop him from selling drugs. But he did that because that's all he knew. Then once he got to that point where he started having the cars and once he started having everything, he had the stories, and he started becoming this man of stories and all these things. I think he got shot, like, whatever, 15 times or something like that at one time. And he then started making. He started sharing his stories through music. And this was when, you know, a lot of these, like, people were starting to blow up. You got the, like, the Dr. Dre's and you might know the rap industry better than I do. I'm not much of a rap guy. I was just reading this book and it was really inspiring. And he started to realize that there was opportunity in this and selling these stories and performing these songs and all these places and having record labels come to him and selling them the idea of. Of them helping him produce his music. And that got to where he started being able to buy houses and cars and like, living this life and traveling. And then he realized that he needed to start a record label. So he went and started the record label and started to recruit people on his label and then started to realize that he needed to get into entrepreneurship and business. And just one after the other, he found ways to keep growing and, like, these opportunities kind of unfolded as he went along. It wasn't one of those things where this entire time at the beginning he's like, oh, like, I'm gonna go start a record label or anything like that. He never even knew he was gonna do any of that or get into business. He just was trying to survive for a while and just finding the way to survive and then finding better ways to survive and instead of stop surviving and instead to thrive and just slowly moving up the. The order of Maslow's hierarchy of needs. The same thing happened to someone like Steve Jobs. Like Steve Jobs didn't know that this was like, him being his. His obsession around computers was going to Turn him into the billionaire that he became and, and starting up Apple, which is now one of the largest companies in the world. He didn't know that that was going to all unfold that way. And instead he just liked building computers with his friend, the other Steve, Steve Wozniak. And him and Steve were obsessive and just loved building computers. And it turns out that the personal computer was starting to become an opportunity. And he saw that opportunity in front of him, especially with IBM and these companies back in the day, that he needed to get into the personal computing industry and that there was a huge amount of money there. And he went to these people and asked them to give them large sums of money so he could go build these computers and start selling them to people. And I remember there are some people that he went and offered this to and they said he was crazy and they didn't offer the money to him. He, like, offered like a third of his company, a third of Apple, the startup of it, to be the initial founders and investors into it. And people turn him down. And then one person said, yes, I'll do it. And those people missed out on like, billions of dollars. I think not this point. It would have been worth like, whatever it is, like, you know, $300 billion. That, that, whatever. I think the $50,000 investment or $100,000 investment that he was looking for, I don't even think it was that much. I think it was like 20 grand or 10 grand. And they turned him down. Missed out on like turning $10,000 into $300 billion. Obviously, $10,000 was money back then. The guy didn't shower. He didn't shower. He was like anti showering. He wore sandals everywhere. He was super anti the norm. And one thing led after the other. And then he had the opportunity to, you know, he got fired from his company. He invested into Pixar and became a, you know, one of the owners of Pixar and helped them make Toy Story and a few of the other movies that came out. And then he started up Next Gen and did that, and then he bought back into Apple and became owner of Apple again. And then that led to the invention of the ipod, and then the ipod led into the invention of the iPhone, and the rest is history. You don't need to have everything figured out. You just need a lead. You need something, an opportunity, something in front of you, something that you see in front of you that kind of makes sense. Start going down that pathway. That may not be the thing that you're going to do for your entire life. You're not going to be doing whatever. Like, you know, you're not going to be like 50 cent where you're selling drugs your whole life, or else you'd probably be dead, like, by now. But you do something and you just jump with the lead and you run with it. And then one thing after the other, other opportunities start to shine through, and you start to realize that there's other opportunities that lay out in front of you. I see this a lot with, as you may know, I have this program, it's called Faceless Channel Academy, and I have a lot of students where I help them build faceless YouTube channels. And my recommendation, our motto inside of there is just pick a niche. Pick something to go down. Even if you don't, you're not in love with it. Just pick something. And what will typically happen, we see very often now these days, is other opportunities start to arise. Maybe you just pick a video strategy, a content strategy, and just run with it. And as you start going down that strategy, somebody in the marketplace will make a video that gets some crazy views. It gets, like, a million views in two days. Like, I have this guy, he's in, like, the country niche. Like, oddly specific. He's in the country niche, and one of his competitors or one of the other people in the industry, like, he's made a few videos. I got, like, I think 20,000, 50,000, 100,000 views. But he knows one. He sees one guy that made a video, and in two days that he was following and modeling, got a video that got a million views. That's a lead. It's an opportunity. In front of him, I have another student, Tiana. She. She had this health channel that she was doing. There was this channel that was getting some good results. It wasn't necessarily working as much anymore when she jumped on the opportunity, but she ran with it. Then this other opportunity, this other channel made this content strategy, these videos about burning fat that just, like, we're ballistic that we're getting millions of views, like, seemingly overnight. And she wouldn't follow that pathway. And I think she was making. She got to where she got monetized and got to where she was making a couple hundred dollars a month. And then this burning fat strategy came out, and she ran with it. And as soon as she did that, that month, I think she made like $8,000. The next month, she made $17,000. And the next month she made, like 12 grand. And so over the span of a couple months, she made like, over $30,000. And that's just because by luck of the draw of just picking something, opportunities show up and they appear. That even happened for one of my channels. I had this history YouTube channel that I did that was, you know, it was doing all right. We had this channel that we're following, and they were doing decent. They had some stuff in the past that did really well, but they were kind of in this phase of, like, doing all right. And so we just followed what they were doing. And then we made this one video. I don't remember even we saw this other channel. They did it in our niche. And we. We did it as well. Didn't think much of it. We just made the video. Four months go by. Nothing really happened to it. And then one day, Netflix decides to make some documentaries on World War II and goes live, like, puts them out and puts a huge marketing campaign behind it and buying advertising and all sorts of stuff like, like millions of dollars, hundreds of millions of dollars behind this marketing campaign about World War II and this new series that they were coming out with, it was like World War II in color. And we had a video about the subject. And us having that video of the subject, the video took off and blew up. This video that was, I think, like five months old or six months old at the time, overnight got millions of views, and we made $7,000 in a single month. And we had an audience now. We had traffic and we had potential there. So we doubled down on what was working on that strategy and covering other topics that were kind of similar to it that that audience kind of enjoyed. And we got that channel to where it was making 30, $40,000 a month. Then the eight months prior to that, we weren't really making anything. And if anything, we were just sinking a bunch of money into this thing. And nothing really happened but us continuously doing it. Opportunities arised and it worked. That's happened to me many times. Even, like with this channel that you guys are watching me on. I just started this channel as a fun project, that's all. A lot of channels that are doing concept strategies like this. This is a fun little side project. And I kept uploading videos. And then one day, one guy made a video about how telling a story about why you won't ever work a 9 to 5 job again, and the video blew up and got lots of views. And I was like, I have a similar story. I'll make a similar video about it. And my video now has about like a hundred thousand views on it. I made this video. I was getting like, 50 views a video, 100 views a video. I made a video on it, and the video blew up. I think it got to where it was getting like 15,000 views a day. And now I was put on the map on this channel. Like, I've done that a lot in the past as well. But, you know, I just know how these things work. And I just always start somewhere. I know. Like, I see other people doing it. I know there's like under opportunity there, and I go down that pathway, and then as soon as I see something, like an opportunity that springs up, like a strategy or like, you know, an opera, like an idea starts working really well, I go all in on that thing and boom, now you have lots of traffic. And now I have an income source. And now I think this channel makes. And I can show you guys this is not all my money. I'm not going to say it's like some crazy large amount of money, but here, I'll show you this, you guys. Over the last. Luckily I have it pulled up already for you guys. See if the Internet will load for me. Okay, so we can see over the last 90 days, we were able to get monetized and we've done $644. And most of that was in the last like 45 days. So, like last 30 days, whatever. Last month this channel was generated $430, about $500 a month or whatever. Not saying that's a ridiculous amount of money, but for you watching this, that's a start. That's a. That's a direction to go. And then all it takes is for me to just have a couple more videos to. To blow up and I'll make even more money off of the added revenue from these. For me, I don't necessarily do it for the ad revenue. This channel makes $50,000 a month. That's cool. It's not really what I'm trying to do. Would that really change my life? Not really making 50 grand a month with this channel. But what that would do is bring me a lot of opportunities. Already doing this. I've networked and connected with so many other people that are making a ton of Money with. With YouTube channels. And I provide ideas to them and I help them do their channels and they provide stuff to me. And it's like, you know, I make. I get way more out of this than the actual ad revenue that I get out of it. And it's actually brought me a lot of business, a lot of connections, a lot of networking. Them sending lots of business over to Me just out of doing this for the last few months. So you watching this video, you need to just find something, anything, an opportunity that you see, that you feel like is going to get you towards your dreams and towards your goals and, and out of this place that you are at now. It's not about having everything figured out, it's just about having some of it figured out. Not being overly analytical, not trying to find the perfect opportunity instead of trying to make the perfect decision. Said you want to make a decision and in that decision, making of doing something and taking action on it and moving through it, then what you try to do is you just try to make that decision, right? You make that decision, the perfect decision for you. For me getting to this point, like, I had no idea that I was going to be building faceless YouTube channels. I had no idea I was going to be making a channel like this. I had no idea I was going to build a, one of the most successful coaching programs to help people build faceless YouTube channels. I had no idea that I was going to become a guest on so many different podcasts and tell my story. I had no idea that I was going to get invited to all these places and meet billionaires and multi nine figure entrepreneurs and have my friends all be millionaires. Like I. That's not necessarily what I expected from the start of all this, but as I went along, these opportunities came available to me and I connected with people and I started meeting different people and, and just as time went on I started to meet all these people along the journey. And so that's where you are right now. You just need to get started. You just need to go down that pathway and maybe you have already started, maybe you have already picked something and you're trying to, you're in that stage of like making that decision, right? And a lot of it is just showing up every day and just looking at the landscape and as opportunities arise and as they pop up, it's jumping on them and taking advantage of the opportunities and just following the pathway that's in front of you. You don't need to have everything figured out. You need something to choose and to go down. So what is that thing? If you haven't made the decision yet, you know there's a decision to make, go make that decision. Do might be the wrong decision for right now in the short term, but make that decision right. Take. You don't have to be over analytical, just go make the decision. And the more decisions that you make and the more lessons that you learned through Making some of these wrong decisions. You'll get better at the decision making down the road. You'll figure out the process as you go. So the question I have for you watching this video is why don't you make that decision? Or then the other question is if you have made this decision and you kind of getting punched in the face right now, what's making you want to give up and why do you want to keep going? What is this all for? Why did you make this decision in the first place? And what would be the thing that made this to start being fun? Would it be that you're finally making money? Would it be that you're finally getting the recognition that you're looking for? Would it be that people are starting to recognize your work? Would it be that your family doesn't doubt you anymore and that you're not the, you know, you're not the problem child, family or whatever, the crazy person anymore and starting to get recognition? What is it like? I ask you that drop it in the comments and share it with me because I'm curious because I would love to turn that, like help you lead that through, through those specific situations and specific examples in future videos. But what is that thing for you? And then I ask you is if it takes two years, three years, five years. And on the other side of that of consistently showing up every day, putting in all these hours. On the other side of that, you're living your dream life. You're making millions of dollars, you're traveling the world, you're living your best life. You're detached from the system. You're doing everything that you want in life and you're getting the most out of life. You're life maxing. You show your kids that you're capable of doing whatever you put your mind to. You get to meet cool and awesome amazing friends that are doing everything that they want in their life and you're staying in an exquisite five star resorts and, and doing all the things that you want. Is that all worth it to you? If it takes three years, if it takes five years, and if it takes five years and you think that's not worth it for you, then that's okay. This video isn't for you. Like that's okay. Maybe you just meant to go be a part of somebody else's dream. Someone else's dream is bigger than yours and you're supposed to go be a part of that dream. But for the dreamers watching this, for the people that have a bigger dream and want everything else to be a part of your dream then you need to keep chunking down. Just keep chasing after what's in front of you and things will start to open up, opportunities will open up and parts of your dream will start showing up and other people will start becoming a part of your dream. That's what I have for you. Just trying to lead you guys through some thoughts here. Go make that decision that you have. That is my action item for the day. You know you have a decision to make. Go make that decision. It's been holding you, it's been holding you hostage. That decision has been holding you hostage. It's time to stop letting that thing holding you hostage and having you be a prisoner of that decision and instead to flip that decision and make that decision. You're a little and decide to make a go take action on that thing and then from there one thing after the other everything else will unlock. So drop it down in the comments. Thank you guys for watching this video and I'll see you guys all next. One. Peace.
