Watch this if you're tired of working a job you hate

Devin shares lessons on building financial independence and high-income skills to escape jobs you hate. He talks about leveraging what you know and starting a business, drawing on advice from mentors and his own experience.
To a study that was conducted. 85% of people feel unfulfilled at their jobs. We live in a day and age where the system is broken. Parents and mentors tell us to go to college and get a job. The people who make the most are those that either play the system or don't play the game at all. I was actually funny enough, like breaking down that intro of that video. I did a sales call not too long ago with a guy that I was talking with him and he made really good money. And it was in like a. It was like in a tech job. And it was significantly, far more than anything else that anybody else like I've ever talked to has made in that career. And so I was asking him like he was in his 30s, so it wasn't like he's been in it for like, you know, 30 years and had some crazy like executive position or anything like that. So I asked him like how he did it. And so what he told me was his secret was that he, he worked four to six different jobs all at the same time, at all times. And basically, you know, either you have to like, game the system or you don't play the game at all. And that is how you get richer these days. And so how he did it is he just would make sure that none of them knew about each other. And he would go and he knew that like the first month to two months it was a little bit more intensive. But then after that, most jobs and most careers they would like, or most companies they would just kind of like leave him alone. And they wouldn't check in with them as much as he was in there for a lot longer. So he was able to like, basically profit on the weak culture at some of these different corporations or startups. He would go and work there for like, like the first month he'd be a little bit more responsive, more intensive. And then he knew the system of like kind of just maybe an hour a day or so, two hours a day, checking in at the job and kind of being active. And basically he would play the game of pushing timelines back on how long things would take. And then on top of it, he would play the game of just being enough in communication and just be like, oh yeah, things take a long time to do. And so he was always able to like rotate between four to six jobs. And I'm not going to name any name drop here or anything like that. I'm not going to reveal anybody's identity. But I just thought it was like the craziest game ever that this guy was playing and that is how this guy was getting rich and making a ton of money was by playing the game of the system. So either you have to like game the system or me and other, you know, people that you see online that are making millions of dollars, you know, the real ones aren't the people that are just like faking it and trying to show that they're making a ton of money, but the people that like actually make a ton of money, we just don't play the game at all. Instead we play a different game. We play the game of leverage and building assets. And so what you see is the amount of leverage that we have today is insane. Naval Ravikant, which is like a world renowned investor. He talks about, you know, there are three different types of leverage. There is people leverage, there is asset leverage, you know, leveraging real estate and assets. And then there's also like leverage of your money. And then now these days it's kind of changed a little bit. There's media leverage and now there's also leverage of code as well. So Software is and SaaS. So typically you want to have these forms of leverage to be able to make a ton of money without having to do as much. And that's what I've done. You know, for me, I leverage media leverage and then I also leverage people. And then I also leverage leverage people, I leverage media. And then now I'm trying to figure out kind of how to play the SaaS game, how to leverage code. I got some like different tools that I've been building at different softwares and been ideating on that. And you know, these days there's so many different distribution platforms. There's so many things like right now I'm uploading this video onto YouTube and me creating this video. Like I just recorded and uploaded a video just a couple days ago and it got like 5,6000 views off of like just in the first day or two when I had no following, no one knew who I was. I mean I am pretty well known, but I started on a brand new channel and just be based off of my skill sets and my expertise, I was able to make a video that was able to to resonate with so many people and my stories as well, and my stories and my expertise resonate with so many people that these videos are able to get thousands of views by me just uploading and just talking and rifting and sharing stuff on YouTube. That's how you know your realism when you can just like yap and Make a ton of money is what one of my friends messaged me the other day. I just thought that was so funny because it's so true. Like, you get real when you get the skill set, when you learn how to do the things and you become somebody of leverage. When you become somebody that has these skill sets, you're able to do some incredible things. Like look at Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos or any of these people that are billionaires. If they lost everything today, even their name, their skit, like, their. Their businesses, you know, all their money, if they just lost everything, they become a billionaire pretty quickly, probably within a month or so, because of their knowledge and their expertise and their skill sets. They know how to play the game, and because they're. They've played it at such a high level, you can never take that away from them. They can never lose those skill sets. And obviously that'd be impossible for them to lose their network and their connections, all these things. But you have to realize that, like, we live in a day and age where distribution is not the problem. Distribution is the easiest part now. Now you just have to develop a good product, which is either, you know, you. You actually create, like, a good product, whether it be like a physical product or a digital product, or you develop yourself as a product, which is something that you see me doing here, which is I have productized myself by becoming somebody that has these skill sets. I've done thousands of sales calls. I've recorded thousands of videos. I've also posted on Twitter almost 9,000 times. I've also written hundreds of email newsletters. I've also listened to thousands of sales calls. I've also invested over 200, $300,000 into myself. Like, I literally just invested like 20 grand into myself over the past week into developing myself as a, you know, a stronger character, like, with stronger skill sets and to become a more effective human being. And that's the day and age that we live in now, these days. And so you don't have to be stuck at a job that you hate anymore because of all this leverage that we have now. Mind you, you don't know what you don't know. And it's kind of hard to teach an old dog new tricks. But for those of you that have the humility, that are open to learning new things, you know, I really want you to know that there is so many potential. There's so much potential. There's so many opportunities to be able to make a ton of money these days. And so that's the thing is, once you have a skill set, you become less and less replaceable. Just like this guy where he was able to, you know, leverage the hell out of all these different companies and play the game. Which I'm not saying that you guys all need to play that game, but because he had that skill set a complete companies were willing to hire him without having to do some crazy amounts of research into the guy and to find out that he had like a profile at other companies, like he was able to kind of play the game and they were hiring him regardless of, you know, ridiculous amount of background checks. Gone are the days where you need a college degree to get hired anywhere. Like actually like majority of companies, like all these companies that like seem very prestigious, let's say like a Google or an Amazon or an Apple, most of them these days, if you look online like you don't even, they don't even hire based off of degrees as much anymore. Like you don't have to have a college degree to go work at Google, Google and get a hundred thousand dollars a year salary or a hundred thousand dollar a year job. So it's the skill sets. And when you become skilled enough, when you become good at doing the thing, when you come good at being effective and you get a result and that's what companies are paying you for, you can work for as many companies as you possibly want. You can also have uncapped limit, you can have uncapped income potential by building a business or having, you know, leveraging social media platforms, creating content, building YouTube channels, using websites like Shopify, Amazon, YouTube, the list goes on. So but you know, I remember when I went to, when I grew up, I went to college or I was thinking of going to college and I remember like graduating high school and that was like what everybody around me told me that, Devin, you need to go get a degree. Devin, you need to go get a job. Devin, you need to go get a good job. You need to go get, you need to go save your money up. You need to invest your money. You know, I was being told, invest my money into buying a house, into the S&P 500 and into all of these things. But I knew that that blueprint was wrong. I knew that it wasn't the thing. Like I just didn't, I didn't want to play that game. Like, I didn't want to be a part of the game that everybody else was playing. I knew that I was made for more. I knew that like just there was just, I had many experiences where like I Worked different jobs. And I knew that for me personally that it, that wasn't for me. Now I see how it is, like it's effective for so many other people like us in society. If we didn't have people doing that, then it would, you know, society would be completely different world than we live in now. And it can't just be a pure wild west or else, you know, then there would be chaos and there wouldn't be rules and laws and like all this stuff. It would just be weird. So there are those people that like I'm thankful and grateful for all those people. Like I'm grateful for the person watch that washes my car and comes and details my car every month. Like I'm grateful for that person that they are that person that comes and, and works for me, but they own a business themselves. Like, you know, they're, they're playing this game that I'm playing as well. You know, I'm grateful for the person I valet as my car. I'm grateful for the waiter that serves me food at my table. But I knew that none of these jobs were something that I personally wanted. I knew for me that I was capable of significantly more. And how I knew this is I met other people that were extremely successful. I didn't know anybody rich growing up. When I was going to high school or growing up, my parents weren't very well off or anything. Like they were good, they did good in life, but they weren't wealthy, they weren't rich. You know, they were rich in love and happiness and joy and, and being there for each other. But, you know, we weren't rich financially. And so I never was surrounded by these people. And so it wasn't until I met my first millionaire mentor that really changed my life. And this millionaire mentor, he was doing like, he was, I think like 34, 32 when I met him. And he was running a real estate brokerage that was doing like $300,000 a month at a very young age. And so me, like I, I, I met this guy and, and he kind of took me under his wing. He started just showing me all of his bank accounts. He would show me his PNLs. He would have me hang out in his office seeing like his phone getting blown up and having all of these real estate agents coming in asking for him all the time. And I just, I saw how this guy worked. I saw how he moved, I saw how he executed on things. When he had an idea, he would go do it. Whenever he saw an opportunity, he would kind of weigh out the pros and cons and he would execute on it immediately if it made sense and kind of pass through his filters. And if it didn't make sense, then he would just say no and move on. He would say no to a lot of things, but he was good at saying yes to the things that moved the needle the most and was aligned aligning the most with him and where he wanted to go with his business. He wanted to be have the real largest real estate brokerage in the state of Idaho. So for him, you know, anything that led towards him being able to go do these things, he would execute on that opportunity immediately. He wouldn't wait, he wouldn't, he would just go and do. And then also he was also somebody that I saw like he would. He became such a talented and skilled person that everybody wanted to sell his house through him because he just built this relationship. He was so effective. He knew the systems and the laws and the rules better than anybody else did. And then also he was one of the most leveraged people that I ever met. He used, he was more on ahead of the curve than anybody else on all the different softwares and marketing tools. And he was so open to trying new things. And it was so like revolutionary in the real estate industry industry, especially in that area that he was in, you know, Idaho. It's a very old school kind of place. It's a lot more conservative values there. And he was a lot more progressive of like trying new things, doing new things, trying different things. And so me seeing this guy, you know, he was a dork, he was a weird guy, like a lovely guy, but you know, he's a weirdo like me. And I saw that, like I. That resonated with me. Like I saw how much a weirdo this guy was, but that didn't matter. It didn't matter how socially like how unability, unable he was being able to have like conversation and stuff. He was kind of awkward, but he was so effective. And because he was so effective, he had conviction, he had confidence in himself and he was a go getter. He would always go and do things and he, he built a name for himself. And I saw this guy, I saw him on a personal level. That's why I'm able to say, say these things is I saw him on a personal level and I real, I related to this guy so much that it changed my beliefs of myself and what I was capable of. Because I grew up being an awkward guy. I grew up being somebody that I had a tough time Holding a conversation with somebody, I. I had a tough time. Like, talking to beautiful girls, I had a tough time, you know, nobody really related to me. And in high school, I was a weirdo. Like, I just. My brain worked so much differently. It was like. I don't know, I had, like. I feel like I had autism or something like that. And I. And I couldn't relate to the average person. So this guy was somebody I could relate to more than anybody else that I've ever met. And the difference of him and why he was able to get those results is just because he took a chance and took a bet on himself instead of betting on somebody else. He bet on himself every single time. He took the chance and invested in himself every single time. Any sort of mistake didn't mean that he was going to give up. It just meant that he was going to try again. It was just another data point. It was another iteration that he could leverage to go and try new things. And so me growing, like, me being. I was like, 19 at the time, seeing this guy, the way that he functioned, the way that he operated, rewired my brain entirely. And so what I started to do is I started to find. I started to figure out what was it that I wanted. He wanted to be the biggest real estate agent. So for me, I wanted to be the best youtuber there was out there. That was kind of like my original goal. And so I never necessarily became the best YouTuber that was ever out there. But at first I was like, the best YouTuber in the real estate industry. So I just. I saw what he was doing, so I wanted to be the best YouTuber in the real estate industry. That was my goal, and I kind of pretty much accomplished that. Besides just necessarily, I guess, a size thing, I just had better videos. I had better relationships with people. I felt like I was one of the best in the industry of just doing this super consistently. And so then as I started to become the best at, you know, being the best YouTuber in the real estate industry, then I came across faceless YouTube channels. And then my goal there was to become the best faceless YouTube channels there were. And I had immense amount of insecurity. Whenever I saw someone that was better than me. I always was like, how the hell is this person better than me? And I did whatever I could to become better than those people. And so I just always bet on myself. I saw. I. I knew that if I had kids, if I got a job, I worked there too long and I was too stagnant and I didn't take those risks at an early age. I knew that it was going to be extremely harder, a lot harder, a lot more difficult for me to pivot and to try new things and to take risks. Because you have a wife, you have a house, you have a whole lifestyle, you also have social embarrassment that starts to build because you know all these people. Luckily, I was in a transition. I. I just went to college. I. I didn't know anybody. Like, I was friends with people, but no one really knew me personally. So I just. I was who I could be, whoever I wanted to be. And there was not that social embarrassment or if I did have any social embarrassment, like, if there was, if I was afraid of, like, what people thought of me, I just didn't care. Like, I just. I detached myself from those people that were around me and my parents. Like, I just didn't tell them anything. I didn't tell anybody anything until I was rich enough and I was successful enough that people were like, whoa, who are you? Like, I disappeared for a long enough time and I came back as this new version of me. And then anytime anybody would ever kind of treat me like this old version of myself, I would just kind of distance myself from those people. And I just wouldn't allow those people to talk to me that way because I just no longer was that older version of myself. I was no longer that person that, you know, that was awkward. Like, I just, I just. Anybody that kind of tried to treat me that way, I would distance myself. And instead I surrounded myself with new people and people that saw me as this person that was insanely successful. And I lean into that version of myself other than the old version of myself. And so here's the thing is there's so many ways to make money online. And I know a lot of you guys watching this video, you're probably already working a 9 to 5 job. You really have two paths that you can go here, that there's two ways of doing this. So the first way of doing this is either you can go all in, quit your job, pick up some sort of sales job or something, or consulting job, or gig work, like doing ubereats or doordash or work, picking up projects off upwork and doing consultation, like consultant work. And you can do it that way, you can make it work, you can be effective in doing it that way and kind of do it like go all in, just quit your job, work entirely for yourself as a 1099 or whatever they call it in your country. Us. It's like a 1099 and you can just become self employed. So then when opportunities come, you can pivot. You can either just fire the client, you just drop the client, go work on it, bigger clients. Or when another opportunity works or you start making more money, you can just cancel everything and then just start doing that. Or the other option is you can go and just do things on the side like start building a business on the side while you're working your job. Especially if you're somebody that like works from home or you work a computer job, you can certainly do some work while you're doing that job. Like the one guy I talked to that he was working like four or five jobs all at the same time, you could certainly just be building your business while you're working for that company. I have a lot of students and a lot of clients that they're building their, they're building their business while they're working at their job, on their jobs time and start building these assets, start building this income. So then when they start making 5,000, 10,000, $20,000 a month, like I see this often, we help people get to $10,000 a month with their faceless YouTube channel by then then they can just go and quit their job and just switch fully over into their business. So for a lot of you guys watching this, like, start finding ways of making money, start finding ways of making money while you sleep, start finding ways of generating passive income, start finding ways of building businesses, start finding ways of developing high income skills. The issue with most people is once college is done and once school is done, they cap their entire earning potential off by they just feel like, okay, I went to school, I went to college, I'm done learning. Now I'm, I learned a lot and then now I'm done with school, so I stop learning. And that's where most people go wrong, is they lose that childlike curiosity, they lose that developing themselves as a more effective, efficient human being. And, and they completely cut off the opportunity for them to actually be able to become a higher leverage person, to be able to make way more money and to have a lot higher skillsets. And so instead view it as you watch, like you watching this video. That means, you know, you're one of those people that is open to learning new things. You have humility, you're smart, you're intelligent. You know, maybe you're not like freaking Albert Einstein, but you're a pretty smart person watching this video. So what you do is just keep learning new skills, keep learning high income skills, learning how to make viral videos, learning sales, learning communication, learning how to network people, Learning how to invest into businesses and how to build businesses and how to buy businesses, Learning how to invest into real estate and how to find deals. Not just like put your money into the s and P500 and do that for the next 30, 40 years, but instead something like where you are able to make 10, 20, $30,000 a month in a significantly faster time period. I'm talking, I'm not talking about getting rich quick, but I'm talking about getting rich quicker. There are, it's like the Warren Buffett quote that I love, which is, it's not about how hard you row your boat, but instead it's about what stream your boat is on. You working your job can only make so much money because of the stream that you're on. You can only make so much as a programmer, you can only make so much as a nurse. You can only make so much as a doctor working at a hospital or something like that. You can only make so much as a janitor. You can only make so much as whatever job it is that you're working. There is an income limit. There is a threshold besides just slowly working your way up the ladder in a corporation. Other than that, that's it. So what you need to do is you need a skill where you work for yourself and the income potential is untapped. That looks like sales. That looks like building a business. That looks like building a YouTube channel. That looks like learning how to fix and flip houses or how to flip houses. Like I did wholesaling and I made like 60, $70,000 doing that. That looks like building E commerce stores and learning how to build E commerce stores. Because once you find out how to make a YouTube channel where you make a video that gets a hundred thousand views or a million views, what's stopping you from doing that again and again and again? What's stopping you from outsourcing the production to a freelance team to produce the videos for you, to make the videos for you on autopilot. And, and once you upload those videos, the cool thing about YouTube videos is they get views from for years to come. Like I have videos that upload like four years ago and they've made me over like 30, $40,000 just over the last few years because they just constantly are getting views. I have friends that they build E commerce platform, like they build E commerce stores and they're able to make hundreds of thousands of millions of dollars a month. Because once you figure out how to turn $1 into $2 or $1 into $3. Now you have the license to, to print money. Now you have the license to print money. Because all you have to do is instead of spending $1 a day, or let's say $100 a day to make $300 a day. What happens if you spend a thousand? Now you're making $3,000 a day. What happens if you're spending $10,000 a day? Now you're making $30,000 a day. That is the world that we live in. There are so many ways to make money. There's so much distribution with all these social media platforms, with all of these different distribution of like, you know, there's Amazon, there's YouTube, there's Facebook, there's Shopify, there's a TikTok, there's Instagram. You can build email lists, there's Twitter. Twitter. Like, I've made like, like over 300 grand in just like the last few months with Twitter alone. Like, there's so many ways to make money these days that you want to just pick a skill, whatever it is, sales, e commerce, making viral videos, you know, networking and whatever it is, take that thing and just go all in on it. Becomes like, just start doing that skill set for the next three months, the next six months, the next year. And as you become better at the skill, at first, you're going to suck. You just suck. Because you haven't put the reps in. But as you put the reps in and you start doing 10 videos, 100 videos, a thousand videos, it's inevitable that you get really good at these things. So start doing that now. Start doing the learning curve now. So that way down the road, when you know, when you've done it for a while now, you can really start to get the payout now. You can start really reaping the benefits. So the reason why I'm able to make a few million dollars a year now is because I've just been doing it for six, seven years. I've just been developing these skills. That's all I've done over the past while. I haven't worked for anybody else, I've just worked for myself just every single day. I'm working at becoming a better communicator. I'm working better at getting sales, doing sales. I'm getting better at making borrow videos. I'm getting better at coming up with video ideas. I'm getting better at production. I'm getting better at building my brand and also I'm building brand equity. My name is Becoming worth more. My name is worth so much at a point now that I will never be broke for the rest of my life to because my name is constantly becoming more and more valuable over time. And that's another thing is building brands and that equity over time. As you keep building the brands, then your brand becomes worth more and more and it can get to a point where you can just come out with some sort of product or T shirt or like merchandise or a tequila brand like the Rock and you can make millions, billions of dollars because of this brand equity that you built. That's the world that we live in now. So start today. Pick a skill set. There's so many videos online. Look up how to make raw videos or if you go on one of my trainings you can go literally learn how to do the skillset and have us help you do it or you can look up how to make a how to make an e commerce store. There's so much free content out there these days. There's also so many paid services that you can have people literally show you exactly how to do what they're doing that there is no reason you should be stuck at a job you hate. There should be no reason you should be in a jail cell known as the modern day cubicle in working for a dictator or boss. So if you want to quit your job, pick a skill, pick something and just start doing it every single day. And I bet you you do that over the next 12 months, the next 24 months, the next 36 months and you constantly chasing after goals and focusing your whole being on becoming better and better and and, and working towards becoming a more effective human being. There's no reason you can't be rich as and living the life of your dreams in the next few years. But the question is, are you willing to stick with it? How bad do you hate your current job? Are you willing to do whatever it takes? So anyways, I love making these videos. You guys went crazy on the last one. Drop a like on the video. But also, you know, this is a movement that we're creating and I appreciate all of you guys like all these comments that you're dropping and everything that you're sharing inside of here. So whatever you guys have, whatever feedback if you hated this video, just let me know how I can do Better, like, just give me constructive criticism. I want, like. Or if you loved it, you know, tell me what you loved about this video. But my goal is I want to get this, like, this is my side project. This is my passion project. I do this. These videos for fun. I make them for fun because I know what it's like to live a life that you know that you're capable of so much more, but you're just not able to get there. And I hope that I just brainwash you guys in these videos to becoming a greater and greater version of yourself. I hope that just me in your ear every single day or every so often, like, you know, a few times a week, five, six times a week, you can just have my thoughts and my beliefs and my conviction and my confidence just download into you guys. That's why I make these. I want my stories. I want my. My being, my. My soul of what I've built to myself to, at this point to become yours. It's my gift to you guys inside these videos. That's why I do it. So check out all. Just keep watching the videos. Play them in the background while you're going to the gym, while you're driving, while you're commuting to work. And my goal is that we're going to help so many people get out of this life of misery or like, this life that they don't like. And we can help change a lot of lives in the process. So thank you guys so much for the platform that you've given me. Seriously. I'm so grateful for you guys. I know we're. We're just getting started on this channel. We just started a month ago, and it's just been incredible. So anyways, I'll see you guys all in the next one. Cheers.
