E important să faci diferența între foame și poftă. 👨🏼⚕️☝🏻

In this Romanian health‑education video, Dr. Mihail Pautov explains the distinction between physiological hunger and a specific food craving (poftă). He describes hunger as a generalized bodily signal—empty stomach, possibly low blood glucose—that prompts eating any available food, whereas a craving is a targeted desire for a particular item, often sweet, triggered by sensory, emotional, or contextual cues. He cites research showing that over 90 % of adults experience a sweet craving at least once a month, with chocolate being the most preferred sweet in Western societies. Women report more sweet cravings than men. Pautov highlights that current sugar consumption far exceeds the World Health Organization’s recommendation that free sugars provide no more than 10 % of daily energy (≈50 g of sugar on a 2000 kcal diet), often surpassing it by two to five times.
