Neurochirurgia este una dintre cele mai dificile specialități. 👨🏼⚕️

In this Romanian interview, a neurosurgeon recounts how an early clinical rotation sparked his decision to pursue neurosurgery, describing the highly competitive entry process in Romania where only seven national slots were available and he secured one. After completing medical school, he undertook a three‑year internship, passed the national exam, and entered the specialty. He acknowledges professional success as a vascular neurosurgeon but expresses lingering dissatisfaction, feeling he has not achieved as much as he could have. He notes the increasing fragmentation of neurosurgery into numerous sub‑specialties—pediatric, cranio‑cerebral trauma, tumor pathology, cerebrovascular, spinal, and functional—and laments that, despite his focus on vascular surgery, he wishes he could have contributed more across the field.
