Prezervarea ovocitelor înseamnă conservare, nu modificare. 👨🏼⚕️☝🏻

In this Romanian‑language medical dialogue, Speaker A explains that preserving oocytes also enables genetic study of the oocyte and, after fertilisation, of the resulting embryo, allowing detection and prevention of potential risks. Speaker B adds that while oocyte and embryo biopsies are technically possible today, they are not discussed as part of preservation because such analyses can introduce additional damage. He stresses that, in natural reproduction, the ovary releases the oocyte, it is captured by the fallopian tube and fertilised without any intervention. Therefore, the preservation strategy should be as minimally invasive as possible: collect mature oocytes, cryopreserve them, and later use them for fertilisation, thereby avoiding any alteration of the natural process while still allowing the use of the woman’s own eggs at a later age.
