Porn is not the reason why you didn't know how to express your needs. When you have a problem and instead of solving it, you go to porn. Right, Exactly. That's so important. Porn wasn't the problem, it was the solution. It was how I avoided the pain of, of my needs not being met. Instead of knowing, instead of having a vulnerable conversation which might be painful and uncomfortable, I didn't know how to have that. I didn't have that skill set. I didn't know what an emotion even was. Then I could passive aggressively go and find the connection that I, that I needed through porn. Porn was the solution. And when I started treating porn as the solution rather than the problem is when it disappeared because I stopped judging him. Because that's the stigma. The stigma is on the behavior. There's something wrong with this. There's something wrong with this. You shouldn't do this. This is so bad. This is disgusting. Whatever it may be, that's what perpetuates it. When I started realizing, holy shit, porn has been helping me solve a problem for a really long time. Let's go find out what that problem was. So let's go find out the pain that this porn was attempting to help me avoid. And when I was able to integrate and explore that pain, well, why do I need the protection anymore?
