A restaurant leader explains why posting core values on the wall matters. They had five values written down but never shared them with staff. After distributing value-cards to managers and posting them publicly, the values actually shaped how people worked.
Chapters
The first chapter in a new book is like, it's the frame that changed the game. Because when I learned this people product process framework and I started implementing it in that order, it changed everything for me. When you started implementing this TRC method, what were some of the immediate changes you started noticing right away? Well, you know, we started living by our core values and our mission statement, which, again, you know, you pre. I had core value. Always had. My problem was I wasn't. I wasn't preaching them to the team. I mean, so they do no good if I'm just keeping them internally at all. And so we started going heavy into that. I put them everywhere. You know, we do. We do the cards. You know, we've got the mission statement and the core values on a card. It looks really cool and slick. And all the managers have them. Yep, yep. They're getting better at using them when they have to discipline. But they're posted everywhere. They're posted in public places. Our core values, which are hospitality, quality, consistency, cleanliness and community.
